maybe a mistake was made when changing the thermal paste.
you might need someone to look at it for you if you cannot find the problem yourself

was changed on a repairment shop , should have them looked at it too i think , not sure what else to do , maybe is just because is a 5 years old pc , thanks anyway for replys

As bad as that temp sounds that's very normal for browsers, and I swear all my laptops died from that and memory abuse from them. For me the best thing is always keeping a clean case and invest in outside cooling to help out the fans.

Yeah I figured, your best bet will also to be keep unscrew the case just do light air dusting. Not much more I can other than maybe another repair look but it's also on it's 5th year that's when I start looking for a back up just in case before everything's lost.

at the repairment if so should have told me about that i think other than just replace the thermal paste , i could try ask about that in case but would be weird if they not noticed and told me before

If those are peaks it's hitting every now and then it's probably not really the end of the world. As long as it's not past the Tjunction limit. Should be like 100C for your CPU. But the cooler you can get it to operate at, the better.

some years ago the max i hit was 62 , thought the thermal paste change and internal cleanup was enough to come back to those results , about the cooling pads can actually help and which one do you suggest or any is ok ? i'm a bit scared that this overheat can damage components at some point , i'm also a lot affectioned to this pc , was the first gaming laptop i was able to buy using all my savings , would not be able to get another good one like this for a while , would like avoid more problematic issues , not sure as said before if could be because too old since at repairment not seems to have found other issues when changed the paste , anyway thanks guys

The situation is weird because when the temperature is that high during idle state and when the computer doesn't make significant heavy load stuff the CPU reduces its power consumption to prevent overheating so it should be around 70 C max at least.

1) So what it says about possible problem?:

- Dust around CPU make things hotter than the air can make.

- Fan is fucked. It may spin slower, not at all or even spins in opposite direction. Especially laptop fans designed in a way they pull the air to make it away from the source of heat. Sometimes people make fan blow the air to source of heat by placing the fan wrongly and therefore heat cannot get out so it can make things burn and that's it lol. However laptops have battery and heat + battery means danger.

- Temperature sensor is fucked.

- Whatever program you are using makes a wrong report.

- Thermal paste applied wrongly.

- Possible CPU malfunction, and/or even motherboard malfunction as in very early sign of it that make CPU uses more power than it should and also for some reason CPU cannot power down to prevent damage due to heat. If this is the case, normaly CPU should use power as much as it needs but if it using max or more than max power it's designed for it would make CPU draw power more than it needs even during idle state therefore more power usage means more heat then. This is dangerous and make the laptop start to burn. A good outcome would be about one day laptop just doesn't boot anymore.

2) What to do?:

- Is the laptop hot and is it more than usual?

- Check how much voltage and GHZ your CPU uses during idle state. Simply task manager shows the GHZ so if its lower than usual then at least CPU think things are so hot it should prevent damage so it doesn't even uses more than its 1% power!!!! The program you used to check the temp may show the voltage your CPU uses. If GHZ is in normal state then gotta check if voltage is lower than normal too.

Then a general state of slowdown would be more noticeable than usual.

- How fans of the laptop behave? They may be in a way that they only work or work loud during heat so if they don't work loud or something then likely the program reports wrong temp.

3) Importance of termal paste and why how to apply it matters a lot:

People think thermal paste is a magical chemical that has "ice cold" affect but in reality its purpose is limiting the air between hardware's part that emits the heat and the heatsink by being a bridge between these to make heat go away without making air around the hardware gets heated up, because the air getting heated up is worst than some solid or near solid chemical gets the heat and share the heat to heatsink to make heat away. That's why thermal paste should be applied in a way it won't leak out and it will limit the air.

use that program and undervolt your cpu/gpu

The room is 35 degrees, outside it's 40 degrees, and my PC is currently running at 47-48 degrees(1 game 3 browser opened) (win 11- pro)

By the way, I don't think there will be any problems up to 105 degrees. Also, I think you may have a mining virus. It would be a good idea to scan with Malwarebytes.

and its my second pc its running around 48-49.(win 10-home)

Mine too on idle runs at 35C (95 F). In fact GPU is hotter than CPU on idle at 45C (113F). Same for HDD.
Notice though that they are old, CPU is an i4790k and GPU a gtx 1080 and run on air cooling. Such temps were the same back in 2016 when I got the GPU.
