Hello my fellow members of the Retro Game Talk community.
I wanted to share something very personal with you all today. Today is February 2nd, 2025 and today would've been my cousin Johnny's 28th birthday. But sadly he passed away last year on March 27th at the age of 27. My aunt and uncle are still very much heartbroken and today they're really feeling the impact of his absence.
Johnny really loved hockey, I went to an Islander game recently (his favorite team BTW) and I brought a picture of him with me so he could go too, even if only symbolically. He played all 4 years he went to college too and he was really good at it. He also loved Dragon Ball, it was favorite anime of all time. He had all the games as I remember him playing them. He and I were both really into Pokémon, we'd play with my game boy carts of the gen 1-3 games all the time. He was also a huge dog lover, he loved dogs, pit bulls in particular. He had one at the time of his passing but thankfully my aunt and uncle took her in.
So do me a favor, if you like hockey, play a game for him. If you like Dragon Ball, watch and episode for him. If you like Pokémon, catch one for him. And if you love dogs (especially pit bulls), give one a loving home if you can.
Thank you and Happy Birthday Johnny
