Hello.
Did you remember old ps2? Well there was a rumor say:"if you put a DVD movie in ps2 and turn off and on it a few time it will play it.but your console must be original."
or I heard in legend of zelda SNES in Japanese version you can erase some enemies with talking in microphone.
There is a lot of funny trivia and interesting stuff on old and new consoles. I really like to hear if you know interesting stuff about consoles.
as always:
I happy to do business.

what about in Metal Gear Solid 3? If you reach The End [Not the end of the game] But the boss named The End. If you turn off the system and then come back to it a week later. A cutscene plays where the boss dies of age.

Very interesting. I like the idea of time is effective. I remember in silent hill2 old version if you run out the ammo and boss isn't get enough damage to defeat game kill the boss for you. Maybe because you come so far until this moment.

I think that's true, but you have to wait in game, not turn off the console. And the cutscene is a bit funny

Wait a minute you should keep console turn on? For one week? I heard about a guy who play silent hill 2 remake for 14 hour in everyday for some kind of time farming but one week? Won't this break you console?

You can turn it off I'm pretty sure. You can just fastforward the internal time on the console and go back to the game and it'll be done. Its pretty funny, I wonder how the first guy that found out felt, "I took a break from playing MGS3 and the boss died on his own waiting for me."

I think I find it on youtube

Did he actually explode boss dead body?

The thing with The End is legit, and you don't even have to wait. You just need to set your console's clock to a month later and it works.

The thing with The Legend of Zelda and killing enemies with microphone - are you sure you mean the SNES version? Because it actually is a legit thing for the Famicom version of Legend of Zelda. Famicom (the Japanese NES) had microphones built into the controllers. And there is one enemy type (Pols Voice) described in the manual as "afraid of sound" or something like that. So if you play on Famicom, you can shout into the controller mic and kill them.

I don't get the rumor about PS2 DVD, though. PS2 played movies out of the box, so why would someone try to fiddle with the power button..? Could it be that you had pirated dvd's in mind? or dvds from incorrect regions..?

I'm kinda old so I remember lots of rumors, like:
- OG Xbox was supposedly be backwards-compatible with Dreamcast games (sadly did not materialize)
- you could buy a special graphics card for your PC that will allow you to play PS1 games (turned out to be BS)
- Atari Jaguar is the most powerful hardware on the market because it's 64 bits! (it wasn't, and it wasn't :p)
- Blast Processing in Megadrive is a real thing (it was just a marketing slogan)
- There is a Nudality finisher in Mortal Kombat that strips the opponent off their clothes (turned out to be just a silly rumor, meterilized only years later in a crappy MK clone Tattoo Assasins)
- There is a PC emulator that allow you to play Doom on Amiga (many Amiga 500 users were turbo-jealous of Doom back then, it wasn't until the 2000's and you needed an Amiga 4000 buffed up to no end to play a crappy Doom port)
- There is a secret cow level in Diablo (turned out to be just a troll until they actually did it in Diablo 2 I think)
- and a ton of others that I can't remember off hand :)

Yes you are right I forget the name.

About ps2. It was one of famous console and people play it games only with that. As a lot of people didn't try other DVD or CD on it they thought it can only play games.
so someone make a troll from it. Worst troll of ps2 in fact. I remember someone told me one of his family ask him to make stuff for his son to play ps2. He went there and try this troll with a DVD movie and it didn't worked......he said their ps2 is fake....he told me they relationship won't be the same, because of this troll.

So, from a comment on that video I found out if you kill the parrot before entering the cutscene it will appear as a ghost. This game is too detailed
What? A ghost? Okay now I think I should play whole snake series.
Oh it remind me ghost from legend of zelda link to the past on gba(I sure this time) they said you can find ghosts in poison swamp. In fact they just put zora guy in place it can't come up so he just move like crazies and only get hit by spell or knock by hook shot.
This ghost story was one of old one for legend of zelda link to the past because they were some unused haunted house sprite in main game and swamp name in Japanese was Obake swamp which means devil or evil spirit swamp.

It wasn't a graphics card, but bleem was a similar concept. I don't know if it ever got fully featured to play any game, though. I feel like it was pretty limited?

Oh rumors, well...
The legendary rumor of reviving Aerith in FF VII.
There was something I heard some years ago about people reporting that they heard voices at the startup screen of the PS2.

I'm not that old to remember any gaming urban legend from the 90s but I do know about the cheat code to make Lara Croft naked:

And apparently there's a rumor for Samus too:

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

Dubbed the "Konami Code"

There's an urban legend about the original Shin Megami Tensei on SNES, that if you play it at night, during the boot sequence, sometimes it shows the message "turn it off now" repeated in red all over the screen

You're right about Bleem - it was a PS1 emulator released for PC and for Dreamcast (named Bleemcast, lol). However, it was released in 1999 and the "PS1 graphics card" rumors I remember being thrown around 1997 or something, way before Bleem materialized.

However, my memory might be not 100% accurate. I might be thinking about a "Sega Saturn graphics card" - whatever it was, it was total bs back then :D

Oh, and by the way: I don't know if calling Bleedm "limited" is accurate or not. It was really popular at one point, however it was killed by Sony because they made a big deal about it in court. And finally the devs were either forced to stop selling it (because they initially released it as a commercial product) or they ran out of money due to the court proceedings and killed the thing. But I remember it was rather widely utilized. Like, I had a copy of Silent Hill 1 that didn't need Bleem installed on your PC, it just came with the game on the disc and a dedicated launcher. It was a Russian-made pirate, of course ;p

Oh, I just meant limited as far as game compatibility, due to it being killed. I feel like there's a dedicated community for getting stuff to work, but getting every title would be a gigantic task for hobbyist work. Especially with something like duckstation already out there.

One of must interesting lore is about MK series. People who played first release on arcade machines said:there is a red ninja named ermak in the game." But people who used consoles with better graphics said:"no there is no red ninja in game!"
in fact both was right. When you play MK old you have a chance to encounter green ninja (forget his name) every time you fight him you get a error mak which count how many time you fight him. In some arcade with low graphic or with some problem green showed as red. So people thought ermak is a character. This red fake character add later to game series and now him as ermak.
