Last season's final part releases tomorrow. Anyone here following this series?

For the uninitiated, this series is a sequel to the Karate Kid movies, with the same actors replaying their roles as adults and a greater emphasis on Daniel's rival, Johnny Lawrence.

I definitely haven't kept up with it, but that first season was amazing, the school fight especially. It's like a soap opera revolving around local junior karate competitions; instead of a forbidden kiss or revealing you were replaced by your evil twin last season, the drama boils over into roundhouse kicks and domestic assault. Brilliant stuff.

It's gotten really fucking stupid but i'll probably watch it anyway just to see how much more absurd it can get.

I used to watch it very closely, but then I had to axe Netflix.

Absolutely loved it, though.
Don't you have another way to watch it? I mean, like people do with videogames.

What Season did you love the most ?
Well, to put simply, season 1 will always be that special one, but I'm happy with how things ended in 6. Made me appreciate the series more overall. I went to rewatch a few episodes across the series and kept liking them more. I guess that's the difference between something made with vision and passion vs. corporate slop 😄

What's your favorite one?

I'm going through the series again, veeeery slowly because it's over cable (on Warner Channel, where they broadcast two episodes a week). I'm midway through Season 4 and loving it even more.

Some pretty genius character development in there, particularly for Sam, Tori and Hawk.

That said, I feel like the latest seasons pack too much karate, if that makes any sense. By the time we reached the international tournament I really wanted to go back to the chiller settings of earlier offerings.

Unfortunately no. I once planned to look at it but didn't do it but I'm sure I'll watch it sometime.

For me, I liked each of the seasons till season 4 since I've only watched till that season. I loved season 1 and 4 the most though. I loved the almost bittersweet relationship between Johnny and Daniel, how the characters personas change as they progress through the seasons, favorite characters that I liked were Hawk and Johnny's Son as they progress through their own paths, through war and then peace with themselves, the "Villains" of the story were great, the best I can say is that the main enemies of the whole story for Cobra Kai, would be their own ways, egos and spite, Daniel always thought the Miyagi's way of teaching were the proper and perfect way, Johnny proved wrong in his own way, Even Chozen taught Daniel the true way of what the real Mr. Miyagi was.

Sorry for the rent. Thank you for reading.

Great until the end of season 4, season 5 was okay, and season 6 was awful.

Glad to have watched it.

I've seen all Karate Kid media... Well except that one cartoon.

The story telling got so unfocused in the last two seasons, especially season 6. Like they built the whole season around Robby only to swap him out with Miguel in the end, despite the fact that Robby has never won anything on this show while Miguel already won a tournament by fighting dirty in season 1.

The show loves to screw Robby. I won't even get into how he got raped while black out drunk.

They violently killed a kid on live television too in season 6 and then everyone just got over it and moved on. That was the shark jumping moment. And then in a moment of silence for the dead kid the idiot writers thought it was appropriate to do a joke.

You know what, you're right. Robby was doomed from the beginning, even his title shot was rigged. He only gets a fair shot at the advertisement company with the girl, That's it.
