Who else likes these games?
Like most people who don't live in Japan, I only recently started playing those games and immediately became a fan.

My favorite games are:
Choro Q 1 for PS1
Choro Q Advance for GBA
Choro Q HG 2 for PS2
Choro Q Marine Q-Boat

A curious thing is that in Choro Q 3 at the end of the staff roll they wrote "See you in Choro Q 4!" but Tamsoft and Takara never worked together again. Tamsoft was doing a good job with those games so I wonder what happened.

As every good series this one also has a very good soundtrack.
My favorite songs:

Btw if you like the PS1 games, I recently found this Simple 1500 game which runs on the same engine as Choro Q 1,2 and 3 (because it was made by Tamsoft). It's called Simple 1500 Series Vol. 13: The Race, and was released as Pro Racer in Europe and Racing in the USA.

Anyway what are your thoughts on the series?

I quite enjoy the PS1 version, but the fact that you have to keep swapping parts to even stand a chance on some courses really kills it for me.

I've always been curious about these games, but I've yet to play them. Which one should I start with?

Loved the Shin Combat Choro Q AKA Seek and Destroy for the PS2.

That and Panzer Front for the PSX gives me my offline World of Tanks/Metal Max/Girls und Panzer fix.

Sadly, found no accessible sequels for it...

Bweh, back in the dark ages I used to collect these Choro Q games, I think I had all PS2 Western releases at least. Every game was cheap, only one game cost me more than 20 euros. Tried most of the Japanese releases as well (via emulation). None of the games really 'clicked' with me though, and sold the games some years ago with almost all my other game stuff.. in retrospect that was one of the stupidest things I have ever done, but no crying over spilt milk.. :)

I particularly enjoyed the two GBA titles, played on my good, old pink DS Lite. Very colorful and fun, and with catchy bgms.

Seek and Destroy is a good game too, but too short unfortunately.

Depends, if you want a more straightforward racing game start with Choro Q 1 for PS1.
If you want to play a racing RPG play Choro Q HG 2 for PS2.

I only played the first one and found it quite enjoyable. The circuits are well-designed and varied, offering a good mix of challenges. The game allows for some customization, features shortcuts to discover, and has hidden areas to explore. I appreciated the learning curve—it’s not the most complex game, but it executes its goals effectively. In the future I hope to be able to play more games in the series.
