Howye,

Just wondering if anyone has played Champions of Norrath successfully without the lag on Android? Are there specific settings that make the game run more smoothly? I downloaded the PAL version because it is supposed to have less lag and it probably does but it still lags a lot. When it lags it really lags, crazy slow motion.

If anyone wants to recommend a class for a first solo playthrough too, that'd be great. Not asking for much, lol.

If the game runs with the same slowdowns it has on pcsx2 then you'll have to go with software mode if anything like this exists on nethersx2. All snowblind's games have this problem due to BAD emulation of the fires we see in those games.

Good info, cheers, I'll check if there is an equivalent of software mode on Nethersx2. Surprising about the fires thing. Maybe there is a way to tone down colours or framerate to counter the fire issue. Will check out the software mode thing first. Good man.

edit -- yeah, I used the ai assist in the search (too handy, my bad). There is no equivalent to software mode in Nethersx2. Tweaking the graphics settings may help. Worth a bit of experimentation. Looks like a decent game.

Every once in awhile you definitely have to switch to software mode on PCSX2, no idea about Nethersx2 as I've never used it. Mainly just in towns I always have framerate issues for whatever reason in hardware mode, and if you ever enter water it tanks the frames trying to create the water physics I'd imagine.

As for a class recommendation, I'll say the shadow knight. They're pretty fun, and have some pretty unique spells and stuff on them. I'd say the wizard, but they are not the funnest early game when you're playing solo; I can confirm that 100%.

Use the Standard Version and not the classic version. Snowblind Engine games are heavy and require certain fixes.

The classic version is great for non-snowblind engine games.

To be the actually guy: PAL version games dont run better(or lag less). The benefit is that they run at 25/50 fps unlike NTSC titles which run at 30/60fps. This gives you more performance headroom on struggling hardware.

As others said the snowblind engine games run emulated really bad. But i still got bg dark alliance running fairly well a few years back on a Snapdragon 870 phone. Use the nether standard version linked above and also set "Hardware download mode" to "disable readbacks". This often provides a big performance boost with struggling games. Sadly I cant find my old reddit post where i found pretty good settings.
