So, in my current game room setup, only one of these two systems can be plugged in at a time, since no matter what they’ll have a huge power supply that is a hog on a power outlet. I have a power supply for both, but the Master System has an OEM power supply that my Genesis doesn’t have (my Genesis with a garbage aftermarket one that has probably damaged the system over time. Thanks local used game store.)
What I would love to do is use the same cables for both systems and swap the system out depending on what I want to play. The sources I’ve seen seem to suggest that the Model 1 Genesis and Master System can use the same power supply, but I don’t want to test it until I have full confirmation since I don’t want to run the risk of frying my console. Can I use the same power supply between both? Is this a lost cause?
(Yes, I know about the Power Base Converter. No, I don’t own one. No, I don’t plan to get one because I prefer to have the full systems instead.)
