Can someone please ban the Political Virtue Signal threads?

So, it turns out that a band of far-left political weirdos have declared May 17th as "International LGBTQIA+ Acceptance Day" and are now hijacking the forums by virtue signalling. This is very bad, because I joined this forum to AVOID political gunk like this. Now look, I'm not perfect, I freely admit that I'm temperamental and prone to anger. However, I'm not prejudiced against gay and trans people. I just think that there's a time and a place for this, and this is not that place. We have Reddit, Twitter, Blue Sky and ResetEra for these weirdos to virtue signal and shove far-left political agitprop down people's throats. This site is meant to be apolitical and a place to chat up about retro games and other stuff some times.

I'd like to request that someone please ban these "LGBTQIA+" threads. Not out of bigotry, but out of an urge to keep politics out of gaming.

You could just not go into those threads. No one is twisting your arm to do so. And if you want those threads banned, hell, let’s start banning threads I don’t like. I say we ban one episode of Devil May Cry—that's all I needed... not really, just using an example. If you don’t like a thread, just avoid it. Simple as that.

Like a user, don’t like them or their views? Ignore or block them.

So the event itself has existed for going on twenty years, and far-left politics is more like, you know, socialism and working class solidarity, not "the gays *exist*".

There's nothing hateful happening, and we're not celebrating the supremacy of one group over another. Nah, they can stay.

I don't agree with what the thread tries to accomplish, but we can definitely have this conversation in a more civil manner than to mock or dismiss the OP.
