Busou Shinki Mk.2 DLC weapon issues

I've been trying to get the dlc for this game to work. It seems like everything works as intended, however when you equip a dlc weapon and try and use it in combat the game crashes.

I'm not sure if perhaps I installed the dlc incorrectly I know it comes in multiple parts but I've tried pretty much everything I can think of. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I really wanna resolve it this game is amazing.

What are you running it on? I got it working on a modded PSP when I set it up a while ago. If you're missing a file, the game trying to load it in would probably cause a crash.
I don't remember exactly what I did to set it up but I can check my folders for you.

I've tried on psp and vita and the issue is on both. I guess I'll look for another dl or something.

Redownloaded everything from archive and still experiencing the same crash when using dlc items. Does anyone have a fix for this issue?

Tried skipping file replacement, tried merge files, tried replace. All roads lead to the game crashing when using any dlc weapons. Seems like everything else in the dlc works exactly as expected except for the weapons

I'm going to go check and see if my dlc weapons work. I don't remember having any crashing issues but maybe I didn't try and use them.

damn mines messed up too. Managed to equip マジカルステッキ then loaded into training. It crashed immediately. If you find a solution lemme know too.

Ok at least I know it's not an issue with me doing something incorrectly! That's a start lol. Gonna try and do some research and see if I can find a solution for it. Hopefully someone has figured it out, it seems crazy to think that none of the weapons would work and just crash the game.

I found this on the Japanese wiki for the game. It has a page for known bugs. I think it's talking about the DLC weapon crash here. It also mentions some kind of fix but I'm not sure what it means. Need someone better at Japanese to read it.

武装エディット確認時のフリーズ・再起動​

• 武装リスト呼び出しで前作のDLC武装を含んだ武装リストを□ボタンで武装確認するとフリーズ・PSPが再起動する。
• カタログ0号が未適用の状態(DLしていなかったり削除していた場合)発生。
• 本来前作のDLCを引き継ぐにはカタログのDLが必須なのだが、上記のバグを避けるために削除している方は要注意。

not sure but there is a file called "catalogue.cpk.edat" in the folder. The one in the 1.01 iso download folder is a different size to the one in the DLC folder. When you copy them one gets overwritten I think. Maybe try the other file and see what happens?

That's why I tried skipping duplicate files instead of replacing them but I seemed to still have the same crash.

does you title screen have a star in the corner? If it doesn't that means it's not on 1.01. When I just have the update file I get the star, but once I add the DLC it goes away. Something must be overriding it in the DLC folder. If we can find a way to add both the DLC and star update together that would probably fix the issue.

Tried without the star on title screen still crashed for me with both. I think it's definitely something in the dlc that's messed up tho there's too many files getting overwritten for it not to be related to that somehow. Or I guess maybe were missing some essential file. I'm gonna try and run the game from umd when I get home and see if downloading the update from that will look any different than what is already on the site. Maybe try getting 1.0 iso and see if you can update from psp to see what files it downloads. Its gonna be different than 1.01 since that's a patched iso. I'm really running out of ideas of how to approach this, I hope someone who's got it working can point us towards the solution.

Updating from umd just gives you the 144mb download that is already available on the repo.

We must need a different catalog file or something IDK I can't figure it out this makes me so sad lol the game is a ton of fun but this is a huge issue
