GoG addressed some major sore spots with that old PC Breath of Fire IV release:

1.0 hotfix4 changelog:
  • Fixed audio engine inaccurate panning (noticeable in the opening cutscene).
1.0 hotfix3 changelog:
  • Fixed higher than expected CPU utilization (thanks Xeshra for the feedback).
1.0 hotfix2 changelog:
  • Added a PSX-like graphics option with the newly available “Point sampled” texture filtering to make the gorgeous pixel art stand out even more. The “Bilinear” texture filtering option has also been implemented.
Hotfix 2 especially grabbed my attention. I tried the update. True enough with 'Point sampled' turned on, the blurry sprites and mud graphics are fixed. Now it looks like the PSX version upscaled but with better fonts. Much closer to being that alleged Remaster. 😁

*I wanted to include a screenshot of the game at 1680x1050 (16:10), Point sampled/contrast 0.7, but all windows captures is a black screen.

Yeah, the psx with un-censorship hack on DuckStation is still the best for us in this scene. It's just really good that GoG is actively trying to not shovel crap. The Daggerfall Unity community is still pissed at them.
