Personally I would play this later bc there are a lot of features that you won't appreciate unless you're more familiar with what to expect. Maeson is a great place to start imoWould this version be better than the Maeson v1.6 for a first playthrough?
Thank you, added and credited.Another from Pethronos

I really hate scenarios like this where nobody seems interested in simply making a faithful translation and that's it. They always gotta change everything elseq : how many bof2 definitive edition?
a : yes
It's just my spear to break, but personally i dodge Maeson's hacks, they start fine and dandy but eventually they go nuts with the difficultyWould this version be better than the Maeson v1.6 for a first playthrough?
From my first impression of this hack, whichever works. Maeson is a full rebalance of the cast with some QoLs added, while this is more of a fine-tuning of the overall game experience. As long as you're not playing the base game, you're good.Would this version be better than the Maeson v1.6 for a first playthrough?
Oh, really? I thought ThegreatBen fixed it. I guess I'll mention it in the RHDN forum.Seems this hack is not include fix for Agi Up spell...
From my limited testing, no. It's still high as ever. And the less encounter patch by Ok Impala! doesn't mess well with this hack, it seems.Does this hack change the encounter rate?
I still haven't fully tested it, but the readme does mention some changes Maeson doesn't have. One big example is the feature to change party (nearly) anywhere outside of a save point with the start button, and it does work. You can only drop Ryu in the overworld, but in dungeons/towns, he must be in the party. Most likely to avoid crashes for story segments. Here's what it looks like using my old save file. How this compared to Maeson edition?
I honestly couldn't tell you. At a glance it doesn't seem as thorough as Maeson in the rebalance department, but ThegreatBen has a good track record. How this compared to Maeson edition?
