Broken or missing stuff, scrambled music, stuff that really shoudnt be on this system to begin with, censorship, bad translation, regional reskins, overall bad ways to play a good game you were stuck with cause you didnt know any better

I still have ptsd from first playing bayonetta on ps3, IT HAS TO LOAD WHEN YOU PAUSE and when using the inventory ::drink
It's since become my point of reference for shitty ports
Of all games to have abysmal framerate it's the one where doing half second pauses between hits to do combos is a core mechanic, no wonder it didnt become one of my fav games until I played it on wiiu

For whatever reason the ps1 version of Rayman 2 is just missing 1\3rd of the game, was it based on a beta or something? ::nuts Games like Soul reaver, Ape Escape, Tenchu, Spyro 3, SyphonFilter etc can run on the psx so I cant imagine it being bc the console wasnt powerful enough, it has a couple extra things like full voice acting and a nice map select screen so what gives? It came after most of the other versions too..

Speaking of, how the hell is it running so poorly on the 3ds? Why was it a year one title of all games? Why is it not called "rayman 2 3d" nor is there any mention of this being a port of an old game how is this legal??

Take one of the coolest most unique arcade games that was a tecnical marvel and turn it into something you'd get out of a cereal box, sega tbutchering its classics has been a thing since fover it seems

Little king's story pc port is so bad it literally crashes randomly, forcing me to emulate the wii version. But probably the ultimate champion of bad ports is deadly premonition: director's cut. I've never seen a ps3 game running so bad. PC port is also broken. Ultimately I decided to emulate the ps3 version on pc so I can enhance the framerate.

Also keep in mind it was ported by an outside team that probably didn't know how to make use of the ps1 full potential. That version also got a new boss and a redesigned final boss. Plus a exclusive mini-game based on the early 2d rayman 2. So even with it being butchered is kinda worth playing once imo.

Myst for DS. Why? Just... Why? Oddly enough that version was the first one I finished. It's very hard to do. The areas on the screen that you need to interact with are often slightly misplaced or hard to make out due to bad scaling. If they wanted to put Myst on DS it really needed a complete remake to work. The old PC version will run on a potato and that's really the only one you need unless you want Real Myst or the 2021 version with high res graphics.

The recent Monkey Ball remake is awful. You fall much faster than the Gamecube version which makes the Monkey Target mini game completely unplayable.

I assu,e that because it can run on a toaster, whoever owns the rights to myst ported it to everything no matter how half assed said port was. It's on 3ds too and Ive heard its the worst version, I happen to have it on ps2 no idea if its any good or if it supports the mouse

I had no idea the deadly premonition ports were bad! So even the switch version is a bust?

Your theory on rayman 2 makes sense, I'll have to check the credits. It's not a mini gamr its a whole level from the scrapped 2d rayman 2!

This recent trend of remaking older games in unity sucks ass, fans arent gonna touch them, other players wont either cause its old and icky; and the publisher will look at its sales and go "Guess no one wants to buy this, back on the shelf it goes"

Sega botched some GBA ports. Some. There's some good ones too.

Sega having shitty ports is like a company tradition the gba was unlucky enough to have Many and not just from sega
Somehow the wolfenstein 3d port is vastly inferior to the doom port: it doesnt even have music!! I believe its somewhere in the game files
And if you check the credits it was made by like 3 people, probably in an afternoon with a gun pointed to their head. It was also the first time wolf3d was on a nintendo console uncensored, so theres that

I didn't try the switch one, but from what I've heard despite its based on the 360 version(which is the most stable, but lacks a few extras compared to ps3/pc) it still has frame rate issues and crashes. Best way to play is still emulating the 360 version.

It was a rush job and it was left up to one guy. No seriously. Like one guy. XD

This is so true, in many cases a sequel or remake is botched horribly and the publisher assumes that no one is interested in the game and it fades into obscurity.

Like Sega with House of The Dead and Panzer Dragoon.

Some games have translations that don't match up with the VA when you set the voices to Japanese. The average person might not notice this at all. But if you know Japanese or have picked up enough from anime and games to spot some differences it can be kind of glaring at times. Especially when names are changed. I remember this in Virtue's Last Reward and Granblue.

I feel like if you are going to set the voices to Japanese then the game should use the Japanese names in text to match. Sakura Wars: So Long My Love for PS2 accomplished this by having the separate discs. I can't think of any other games that went that far for player satisfaction though.
