Using the citadel as and example here, it's a game that has a generic defeat the mechanical angels (demons in beyond citadel) but the level desing and art style combined with the music and the disturbing gore give it a kind of surreal quality. The game also has some simulation element's in it's gunplay for example: your gun can jam, and certain weapons in beyond citadel need more work to be reloaded. (Reload each shell one at a time with a certain type of shotgun) Your charracter also has to eat and they die extremely quickly. After a while it almost resembles a survival horror game. [/QUOTE]
