Hey, all

Been playing Billy Hatcher and The Giant Egg recently.

I've noticed that most stages tend to have ability eggs for no apparent reason (Fire element buff causing flames to appear around Billy in a level where such ability is pointless).
I got to wondering if the game has a lot of undocumented secrets so that, maybe, these seemingly useless eggs (in various levels) might have a hidden purpose....

it's mostly for damaging enemies, and so you sift through the eggs to eventually find some containing pets and such for the gallery screen. most people will finish the game with very little of the gallery screen filled out, because hatching eggs isn't really fun. frankly hatching eggs is just a slightly undercooked mechanic in the game, which i guess could have been explored in a sequel if everyone else liked the game as much as i do.

the hat that lets you run on the egg though? that's my shit. insane how little they use that ability. should probably on default billy, frankly.

it's possible. i played the game for a little while, but i don't recall being very interested in it. Somecallmejhonny has a video on the game. he didn't mention much in the way of secrets other than the standard sega stuff. it seems that the game is intended for level 0-1 players or small children, based primarily on the repeating of your main objective when you get to a new area.
there could be a whole bunch of things that no one knows about.

Thanks for the responses.
Didn't want to take too much time looking around the levels unless there was reason to.

A real hidden gem and the soundtrack is great - but yeah, there's so much more they could've done with the eggs!
