Best Game Artwork!

I want to get a thread going where we all share our favorite game artwork. I love many game arts, but I wanted to start by sharing several pieces of the character who I think looks the best in promo art when done well: Sonic The Hedgehog! I think no small part of this character and series’ fanbase comes down to how absolutely INCREDIBLE the art is. I won’t show many modern Sonic art pieces BUT PLEASE KNOW THAT I LOVE HIM TOO! It’s just that the classic pieces show more “scenarios” which have stuck in my mind forever. When I’m thinking of the word “vibe” these are the things that come to mind!

I really love how many ways you can draw this character and still have it be exciting. Stuff like this really gets my mind racing and makes me excited to come up with my own stories and scenarios with this world and characters. It’s truly some magic they’ve weaved here.

Have you ever checked out the artbook that came with Dread? It has some cool concept art from Super Metroid in the same style as the box art.

I really love all the manual artwork in old Blizzard games like Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft. I still remember being a kid driving back from the computer store with Warcraft and Diablo and just sitting there reading the manuals cover to cover the whole drive back.

I just really love the black and white sketch art style. It's one of my favourite art styles. My dad had copies of the original AD&D first edition books and they have the same style of art I used to sit and just go through those as well looking at all the artwork.

I'm going to say something controversial but i think Soejima really fell off after Persona 5, the character designs in Metaphor are one of the main reasons why i still haven't played that game yet, all of the characters are so dopey looking in that game but i can't exactly put my finger on why i think so since i'm not an artist.

I don't hate Soejima's artstyle post P5 but I personally prefer his pre P5 artstyle.

I know we all have mixed feelings on Pokémon nowadays, but MAN do I love the use of water colors mixed with the line work that 90’s Ken Sugimori’s art showed.
