Interested in setting up a standalone dreamcast emulator for my laptop. Most reliable
and or easy to use. Just got Project 64 set up successfully some of the homebrew games
are quite creative on that system. Notice the dreamcast has a port of GTA 3 recently
uploaded which would interest me.

Probably Flycast

Thanks guys from what im reading flycast has online capability which is really good work.

Seems to run well this laptop is only a year old ive a mini PC that ive got PS2 and PSP running at really high resolutions at the moment so ill add dreamcast onto it shortly. And thank you think a crack at gamecube is probably up next this month. it looks real good when you upscale the resolution.

Sega Rally 2 looks stunning on it and Soul Calibur is magnificent. Just a great monday all round so far. Thanks all for putting Flycast idea into my head. Finally worked out the controls to WWF royal rumble as well cracking arcade port.

Sorry

Got Flycast working with every game ive tried love it but thanks once again for all help. Already know how to tweak the resolutions mapping controller was easy too.

Flycast is dominant. Naomi supprt, WinCE support, Atomiswave support, HD textures support. CDI, GDI, CHD, CUE all supported. Only a few titles run better on Redream or NullDC. BTW ignore all the Demul supporters...Demul is not a good option.

DEmul doesn't emulate WinCE very well for example Resident Evil 2.

Since we are on the topic of Dreamcast emulation, is there any option of standalone emulator that supports retro achievements?

As was said flycast is the overall best dreamcast emulator currently.

I don't know if it's in the main branch, but apparently flycast's current nightly builds have support for retro achievements, at least from what i understand.

Flycast is good, so is Redream. I use Flycast for arcade conversions more (stuff like KOF XI, CVS2), and Redream for games that officially came out for the console.

FlyCast is the objective best because it has mic support which means you can play Seaman.
