i'd say that this is a pretty good intro for bowser.

i think it's a pretty good way to introduce the villain; there's some build up in general before you enter the level, he's the main threat in the game and he pops up so early when you think he would show up later. the music is perfect with the steady build up, he shows up on screen slowly with thunderous footsteps and a loud laugh.
