Yo! Look what I found on my mother's house:

This keyboard is the sole surviving part of my original Windows 95 PC (later upgraded all the way to XP SP 2) and a silent witness/protagonist to a huge chunk of my life, really.

I must have written tens of thousands of words on it, ranging from painfully amateur forum posts to barely-readable assignments rushed at the eleventh hour on WordPad (we didn't have Office until much later, which forced our teachers to suffer through a ton of grammar and spelling errors). This was also the keyboard I used to play online Doom for the first time and the one I filled hundreds of chat windows with.

I'm utterly amazed that it still exists at all -- I had assumed it had been vanished to the landfill decades ago.

I wonder if I can find an adapter to make it compatible with my USB devises... -- The legend must go on ;D!

Este teclado é a única peça sobrevivente do meu PC original com Windows 95 (posteriormente atualizado para o XP SP 2) e uma testemunha/protagonista silenciosa de uma grande parte da minha vida, na verdade.

Devo ter escrito dezenas de milhares de palavras nele, desde posts amadores em fóruns até trabalhos quase ilegíveis feitos às pressas no WordPad (só tivemos o Office muito depois, o que obrigou nossos professores a aturar uma tonelada de erros de gramática e ortografia). Foi também com esse teclado que joguei Doom online pela primeira vez e com o qual preenchi centenas de janelas de bate-papo.

Estou completamente admirado que ainda exista – eu presumia que tivesse desaparecido no aterro sanitário há décadas.

Será que consigo encontrar um adaptador para torná-lo compatível com meus dispositivos USB...? -- A lenda deve continuar ;D!

Yeah, there's absolutely adapters for this. Passthrough that you add your own usb cord to, or prewired, they're out there.

that connector should have adapters to PS/2 port, then on to USB. totally possible. Not sure what double adapter would do to latency for gaming though.

Maybe give that thing a soak in alcohol first ;)

Excellent! I'll try to hunt one down.

I vaguely remember this being a quirk of this same keyboard, but both spacebar and enter feel really off when pressed. I hope they still work fine!

It probably needs a "bath", too XD

yeah I believe that plug is just called a 5 pin din connector. Should help you on our search for an adapter.
