For budget friendly and emulation compatibility

Ayaneo Pocket Air is not budget friendly as that will cost you upwards of 400-500+. Unless you're going for the lowest RAM possible, which will limit what you can play up to. At that point, you should just get a Steam Deck, or Odin 2, which blows it out of the water. So between RP5, and 557, easily RP5. If you're just looking to play 8-16 bit and good amount of 32 bits like the PSX, you can just get a Miyoo Mini+, or RG34XX or RG35XXSP

If I would want to play up to PS1, I defenitely buy a R36S or R36H, depending on your liking. I've bought both, R36H for 27€ and R36S for 23€, but I've seen R36S for under 20€, there is nothing remotely close to that price and what the console offers.

I am still not enough senile to spend 200€ in a chinese Android handheld.

I got an R36S cuz I'm a cheap bastard, it arrives today or tomorrow. It's the first portable I got since the old gameboy advance days. Can't wait to try it out😅

GO PC Handheld.
Grab the MSI Claw Ultra 5 135H for dirty cheap <$350, will be faced out market because new models 8ai are out.
OK, ITs NOT Plug n Play, needs intensive tweaking for the best, but thats the best part of the Fun Game to make it working best.
And the Claw 135H is the best emulation of the Switch 1080p gaming.

I have a Retroid Pocket 4 and have no complaints about it. It emulates PS2 and GC with little problem, save for a few titles like Tekken and Dynasty Warriors. I would definitely recommend the RP5 - it's on my 'to buy' list.

DO NOT GET AN AYANEO.

For real. I have an 2S and its the most fiddly POS that I've ever had the unfortunate situation to be lumbered with. It just decides not to boot 50% of the time forcing you to constantly shut it down and reboot it.

Stuff is sure to go wrong and their repair parts take an insane amount of time to even dispatch, let alone arrive/clear customs.
