Has there been any games you did not like, and only enjoyed them less as you kept playing?

As in a game that was so highly recommended as essential to experience and it really wasn't the sum of it's parts, but you finished the whole thing waiting for when it gets good but it never does.

Jokes aside, since video games are the main topic on this site, what's your favourite video game and why?

Final Fantasy X, it's the game of my life. It was there when I was 5 years old to 15, took me 10 years to complete it and I bought it for different systems. Young me related a lot with Tidus feelings and the scenarios were so pretty, it's one of the reasons of why water as a concept means a lot to me. To be honest, this would be too long to answer and that's why I want to do something next year for it.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. I asked @Aziamuth If he wanted to play it with me in the co-op mode and we did, it was a pain to continue it past Chapter 2 and it took us 60 hours because we did almost everything we could. The only thing I liked was the fishing minigame and that it was the first of many games I played with him. I like most Ys games, but this one, man...

I don't like Pokémon, I didn't play them as a kid so I don't have an attachment to it but if you mean games, then I like how the GBC games looks like and if you talk about monsters, then maybe Scyther but I don't really know, sorry!
