Scrolling through the PS2 Rom Section i found this Game, I've searched on the WEB for Reviews and more details and then boom flashback.

Never played the game but i have a faint memory of the Anime adaptation i watched many years back, i really love fast paced action mecha games thinking of giving
it a try. Before i kamikaze in it please tell me what you think about it, is it really worth it? The Reviews are more confusing than giving a real vibe what's all about.
Even gameplay videos cant convince me is it worth my time or nothing special? As you keep progressing got any hypes or is mediocre and the same monostatic feel until the end..

must play! armored core nervously smoking in the corner

Silence you two, this post is better than anything you have ever written in your entire careers!

Excellent game! Has the 2nd best gameplay in all Mecha genre after AC6. Was really surprised how good the controls felt.

I was a avid fan of two of the most niche series on the PS2 era: .hack and Zone of the Enders.

I was entranced since I played ZOE Fist of Mars on GBA and as soon as I got the PS2 I played the first one an obcene amount of times, I also watched ZOE idolo after my first run and its a good OVA that ties the trauma of Viola with his lover.

Dolores is... just fine. It's a little bit mecha tropes one after another and the story is not something that I remember very fondly but seeing a full anime based on ZOE was an absolute blast.

You are going to love ZOE 2. It's perfect.

Correction, back when Konami made games.
No they still make some, they just never go beyond being average or mediocre.
Thankfully with them having made the single best looking and best performing digital card game client and a really successful and well done remake of a beloved classic I have hopes for MGS3. (Although, I guess to be fair they didn't even make the SH2R, nor are they really making MGS3R from what I understand)

Man I wish we had a Master Duel style client for the Digimon Card game, I have many cards but never had the chance to play.

I knew exactly what game you meant before I even finished reading the title, lol.
I tried playing the first one on an old PCSX2 build, and it pissed me way off back then that my poor laptop just could not run the game. Most of the emulation was heavily CPU bound with that game. I should try again on the modern build of the emulator in my much more powerful current PC.

First game is relatively simple and somewhat repetitive. There's also a quite a bit of backtracking. However, it's has a decent story, straightforward gameplay and great atmosphere. Action is pretty unique, fast-paced and fun. It's pretty short too so you might as well try it.

Second one has superior and faster fighting mechanics and has some of the best 3rd person action on the PS2 and games in general. No more backtracking, more unique level design but too many escort missions. English translation is basically MTL and dialogue is nonsensical sometimes.

Dolores anime is funny and about a divorced trucker trying to reconnect with his family while getting involved in a space war.

The world took a wrong turn when we never got a ZoE 3.

Due to Kojima‘s involvement and the inclusion of the MGS2 demo (well, video in Europe…) it received a decent amount of hype that wasn’t fully justified but it was a really fun and unique game that was then completely blown out of the water by its sequel. Just aesthetically ZoE 2 is still a sight to behold and the combat and fluency of the gameplay almost feel more at home in the current gen than they did back then. Definitely a series that ended prematurely.
One of those games that is rarely talked about these days but at the time it was a vivid showcase of the PS2‘s powers and felt truly next-gen. I don’t think I’ve seen a generational jump this massive in my lifetime since.
