Apparently the Casio Loopy was a Japan exclusive console released to primarily target girls, with only 11 games released total from 95 to 97. An emulator exists if you are curious and a pack with all the games can be found on the Archives.

This does seem familiar to me, though I'm not sure through which channel or article I'd have first heard of it. ::thinking

I really dig the blue D-pad and what looks to be an infared sensor on the front with the nifty logo. The button layout of the controllers seems like it'd be well suited to rhythm games.

wow, any interesting game to mention? i imagen at most it would be puzzle/plataformer games right?

Iirc its main selling point was that the right half of the console is a printer so you could make your own stickers and whatnot.
That too yes. Why did girls always get the interesting shit??

I haven't dug deep into its library but the game Puppy Love Story seems like an interesting heartfelt coming of age story. It is also fan translated.

PS2's built-in DVD player ain't got nothing on this beast. Casio knew what TRUE gamers want!!

I checked. Most of the games are dress up and painting games. One of them is an interactive visual novel so you go around and solve puzzles when you are not suffering from too much dialogues (Bow-wow Puppy Love Story), one of them is life simulator game (I Want a Room in Loopy Town!) and one of them is dating simulator visual novel (Little Romance).

Yeah, I remember that -- there was a LOT of tech specifically geared towards girls at the time (which I actually appreciate): there was a series of self-contained SIMS-like games (that, by all accounts, were great), a couple of media boxes, and even a music player which included special versions of many songs due to storage limitations... way to turn a flaw into a selling point, I'd say!

Never heard of this in my entire life. It looks like one of those knock-off video game consoles you'd find in anime.

Casio makes those keyboard pianos, right? I like those.
