Found this badboy, I remember getting it from a second hand shop when I was 12, takes a 9v battery and adds a significant amount of bulk to your GameBoy but that stereo sound was worth it haha. Needs a clean as it's been buried in a box for years. Haven't got my GameBoy anymore sadly.

I had something similar.
Weirdest part is I think it, a unofficial AC adapter or something blew my GBC in way that it would NEED help of one of these types of units, it just would not get power through batteries anymore. Weirdest part was the rumble motor reacting to sound output in some random and distracting way.

The device in question is the Nuby Game Boy Amplifier, a third‑party accessory released in the early 1990s to enhance the audio experience of the original Nintendo Game Boy. Powered by a 9V battery, it connected through the headphone jack and converted the handheld’s stereo output into amplified stereo sound, compensating for the Game Boy’s built‑in mono speaker. I remember a friend owning one . It always looked bulky compared to the handheld itself, but the stereo sound it produced was impressive for its time! ::biggrin
