Anyone else like finding physical copies of games you've emulated?

ffvi advance comes to mind for me, i saw it at one of my local game stores, had some trade ins, clearly the stars had aligned urging me to pick it up lol PXL_20250412_051054830.RAW-01.COVER.jpg

Yes, it happened many times with psp games (I was lucky enough to find them at Gamestop, used, cheap, complete with manuals and everything), and sometimes also with ds games ("Knights in the Nightmare" and "Avalon Code" come to mind, I bought them on ebay from foreign sellers just because I liked those games so much I HAD to own a copy). In any case, I reached a moment where I had a shelf dedicated to my physical collection of ds, 3ds, psp and vita games. Never owned gadgets or toys related to videogames, just games and one artbook.

Seeing a shitty game I emulated for free makes me smile thinking of all the suckers who bought it (and likely convinced themselves it was good and forced themselves through because sunk-cost fallacy).

i did play the generation of chaos games to psp
later i did find them in a market and it was cheap price for the whole generation of chaos series to psp

I love physical media of all kinds, so I do try to buy games that I'm interested in when I can. I typically only buy if I find them in-person and/or it's a really good deal. Even with my conservative shopping habits I have a nice big collection with a lot of heavy hitters.

Hell, the crown jewel of my collection is The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall, a game that can be downloaded for free on Steam

I'm the opposite

All those games I had (or borrowed from others), I downloaded for emulators later

Yeah, I'd consider my playtime on the emu as a demo.
