I'm more into missing persons due to my twin brother having schizophrenia an disappeared at 16 found him 12 years later in a homeless shelter 15 years ago.

Not in the sense of glorifying crimes and criminals, but as a study in human nature, mentality and morality? it is definitely an interesting subject.

After reading Sherlock Holmes book I was very interested in true crimes, but then after I learned people really have no "mysterious" reasons to commit a crime for their decision-making process for crime is very simple I've lost interest. Good thing I didn't seriously wanna be a detective because when someone is murdered naturally who murdered the victim is a person in the victim's life. Could be family members, colleagues, friends, friends of friends, family of the romantic interest, et cetera. Sometimes how murder happened itself gives answer who might be the killer. If someone is murdered and you notice his stuff is stolen then it means the murderer was a thief and then it can be a random person which may get hard to find. All these stuff ain't interesting to me whatsoever.

Instead I directed my satisfaction to chase mysteries in science. Once people were complex to me so it was fun to explore psychology, neurology and even genetics and therefore finding out reason of personality traits and biological reasons behind crime was interesting but now it's boring AF to me, however the real deal is in the nature of existence!!! I don't think I can ever get bored learning about the laws of physics. This knowledge provided me with "laws of physics" versions of why people are the way they are which I already knew, however despite many discoveries related to nature of existence I naturally did hit a block onto the surface level of the main mystery of "why the existence is in the way it is" for not having necessary tools to test out what I suspect. Yet it's fun to think about these stuffs though lol.

People are a small universe in and of themselves, even if the motive forces for most actions are predictable. Seeing patterns, discerning them, is interesting to me.

I have a relative who falls asleep at night to true crime podcasts.

It makes sense because they are boring lol. And my mother who once wanted to be a cop because of detective work (but because she is too short she was not accepted to the force) so ended up becoming a personnel in the medical field still interested in true crimes therefore she always sleep at night watching such stuff. Instead of "why and how" she is interested in experiencing the drama of these crimes despite how cliche and ordinary they are lol.

I used to be bigger into it, but I still am to an extent. There's only so many retellings of the same stories you can listen to, after all. I also get kinda grossed out by the weird dramatic romance people attach to it that's become more prevalent lately, even calling it a 'genre' is weird to me as if it's a kind of story and not actually real life where someone died or whatever. That being said I still keep up with some YouTubers here and there.

Yes, I imagine it would be very helpful to be able to play L.A. Noire that requires players to be a master at reading facial expressions to figure out if people are honest or lying and who is innocent and who is the criminal!!!:

lolol
