I love this game. Devious to figure out but a great one to finish quickly if you know what you are doing. I was impressed enough to make Buddy my avatar.

This game (and Flashback) blew my mind when I played them on an emulator as a kid.
Loved Heart of Darkness too but it was too scary for kid me with all those gruesome death sequences.

I had both these on GenMD as well as Heart of the Alien (Out of This World/Another World I & II on Sega CD).... loved Flashback also but never played the Sega CD version of it until emulation in late 90's.... Flashback had a sequel as an unreleased prototype but it's been a while since I checked it out (don't remember what console, either)... these took Prince of Persia/Blackthorne 2D Plats/arguably Metroidvanias to a new plateau both visuaLLy n in gameplay/story

I saw your post and wanted to upload! Hope you like this version too! ::winkfelix

Back then I loved the way how realistic the game is. Animation quality top-notch thanks to the power of rotoscoping: platformer genre evolved!!! It seemed like a movie but gameplay was fun too. Puzzles were interesting because you have to figure out "the another world". It took like a year to beat this game to solve the puzzles but along the way I never ever died in a game until then lol. And I like the way the game is about the power of friendship!!!

I respect people that can get through this game and its successors. I'm all thumbs when it comes to this amount of precision but I do enjoy watch the stories unfold and see how each of the screens were put together to form tough puzzles.

Fade To Black was the first sequel and that was for PS-One. Flashback on the GBA was gonna be part 3 but it cancelled. So now they made a new part 2 that ignores the canon of Fade to Black and plays more like Flashback 1. @.@

Another World was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had—it's a title I'll always enjoy coming back to.
For those who love point-and-click adventures, I recommend trying Future Wars: Time Travellers, the result of a collaboration between Chahi and Cuisset. It's a very unique game, with many moments that are both funny and deep.

Back when there were competent French devs.

Yeah Expedition 33 is good but ultimately a JRPG that was heavily inspired by FromSoft and Mario RPG.
