I pitch Patlabor, the OVA series and the subsequent movies. That was a series created by the Headgear team. Mamoru Oshii directed the original direct-to-video series and the two first theatrical releases, which are the most well liked things about the franchise.

The short OVA is fewer than 10 episodes long, and tells mostly self contained stories, with a fairly good two-parter.

Movie 1 is a great action film in that it looks great and it delivers well animated action in life-affirming cel animation , but it also has one of those great action movie plots, where it's intelligent enough to stick in your head. It's a good send-off to the crew.

Movie 2 specially is very similar in style to Ghost in the Shell (1995), and has a different political thriller story. It's pretty great, and weird it isn't recommended more often. Probably because it requires some homework to get the most out of it. It's fun homework though.

not a "must see" but i heavily suggest The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity if/when it comes out. i have been reading the manga and its really good honestly. its a romcom highschool drama i think
