Animes you absolutely have to see!

Which really good ones have you already watched?
Anyways if you are into older stuff, any anime adaptation by Nippon Animation's World Masterpiece Theater is extremely good.
I have now caught up on Attack on Titan there were new episodes on television. I'll probably watch Solo Leveling which is also on TV now.

Green Legend Ran

I noticed the whole movie is on YouTube on different channels..
Looks interesting.

Surely you haven't only watched 2 series in total??? ::huhsonic
Anyways, for more recent stuff I recommend Frieren, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, Kaguya-sama and Made in Abyss which are all must watches.
I could recommend more stuff, but again you haven't told us what you have already watched and what are your favourite genres.

It would be nice if you also add which Genre's you like and don't like. I'm currently backlogged with so many series that I don't know if i can watch them all.....this is what happens when you like a lot of things...

*edit
Sorry forgot a couple animes.
Garo the animation(3 anime series, not season)

Well I have anime´s I think is a must see but they are not at all a must see in fact they are even hated by majority so nope sorry I got nothing.

I never recommend anime to any one sorry or well I do but only to my best friend but I known him sense I was 10 years old so after 30 years you know each other well.

Also not knowing what you seen or what you like makes it even harder but yeah I got nothing.

For the "absolutely have to see" category, Mob Psycho. It has character development, relatable and deep themes, comedy, cool fights and closure.

Here's a few others I like:
  • Tomo-chan is a Girl is a romance anime with very well developed and iconic characters. The anime isn't solely focused on romance or just two characters as well.
  • Tokyo Mew Mew New (the reboot) is a non-subversive magical girl anime done right: the characters have development, it's non-repetitive, the fights are cool and doesn't overstay its welcome.
  • Little Witch Academia and BNA are extremely expressive animes in terms of character design and animation.

All of the anime I mentioned above have already finished all its seasons.

One Punch Man is a favorite of mine too, it's a fast-paced and subversive take on shounen, but it's not finished and waiting for new manga chapters or anime seasons can be frustrating due to how slow it releases.

In terms of an anime you absolutely have to see which I don't think someone has already suggested, I'd have to recommend Cells at Work: Code Black. It's like one long PSA telling you why you should look after yourself.

I'd also recommend all of the Studio Ghibli movies, but you've probably already watched them all.

Now I could continue by listing all of my favourite animes (like K-On or The Saga of Tanya the Evil). But they aren't "must sees" in my opinion. I just really like them.

I liked some but I don't know if you absolutely have to see them. I wouldn't go as far.
That's no problem if you have some ideas write them down.

No, only the two have seen recently.

Yes, I probably could have written down my taste 🙈 I am not picky. I like adventure or action, love stories and shonen Animes and those of Studio Ghibli.

Maybe it's too mainstream but I'm surprised no one said One Piece. For me it's a masterpiece.
I'll just go with my fav's also:
Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura (or everything Rumiko Takahashi did)
Monster
Saint Seiya
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Elfen Lied
Great Teacher Onizuka

Made in Abyss is soooo damn boring, i literally fell asleep watching it then dropped it after 7eps totally not a must watch

I would suggest "Konosuba" if you like adventure comedy or for slice of life "k-on" is really good, "Dandadan" is a great recent one and for romance "tamako love story"

You've got some great, solid recommendations from other users in this thread. I'll add FLCL, Eureka Seven and Panty and Stocking as must sees. I'm gonna throw in some more obscure ones too. Roujin Z and Mind Game are 2 anime films everyone should watch. In fact, fans of the medium of animation in general should watch them. 2 absolute masterpieces I rarely see talked about.

No idea what you like so

-Stitch!: Lilo and Stitch got two different anime adaptations set after the main franchise. So if you’re like me who wants more world building (aka seeing the other experiments), this is probably the better one to seek out.

-Sonic X: IDC, Chris Thorndyke is overhated (unfortunate last name typing it out though). All things considered it’s a pretty solid and accurate adaptation of the Adventure era (plus Battle for some reason) and I much preferred it to the live action movies that spew out outdated jokes like it’s going out of style.

-Darkstalkers OVA: While Americans got the…interesting cartoon, the Japanese got the rawest looking animation the series could ever ask for. It’s an OVA so it’s short

-Sailor Moon: I don’t need to say more

-Dragon Ball: I don’t need to say more

-Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: I don’t need to say more

-Gunsmith Cats: another OVA that’s really cool. Also

-Riding Bean: Gunsmith Cats is apparently a spinoff to this so watch that too. It’s a movie though.

-Cyberpunk Edgerunners: I don’t need to say more

-Arcane: I really don’t need to say more

-Kill La Kill: I especially don’t need to say more

-City: It’s currently on air but it’s basically Nichijou’s lesser popular younger sister series

-Nichijou: speaking of Nichijou

-Yotsuba: I don’t have anything to say as I’ve never seen it

-Azumanga Daioh: because Osaka is ME frfr

-Watamote: Honestly the rep this show gets is kinda underserved, it’s meant to parody common tropes and it seems people just kinda missed that

-School Days: Another one where the rep is incredibly underserved because people act like you’re supposed to LIKE the protagonist

-Higurashi: Don’t watch the Umineko anime though, that one’s missing a lot of shit

-Fate franchise: If you need a watch order, look it up cause I don’t remember more than the fact that you start with either Zero or Stay Night

-Neon Genesis Evangelion:

-Fullmetal Alchemist: I’ve yet to watch this myself I’m ngl

-Attack on Titan: Same with this, I promised my cousin that I’d start the show now that it was ending like 2 years back

-Oshi No Ko?: I have not watched shit about it since the second episode

-The Promised Neverland S1/Wonder Egg Priority S1: these two shows really fumbled the bag with their second seasons

-Cardcaptor Sakura:

-Precure, nearly any Precure: Most Precure shows are completely unconnected and don’t require you to watch another. Helpful since there’s like 30+ different versions of ts

-Yu Gi Oh: Because it’s time to DU DU DU DU DUDUDUDUDUEL

-does Sentai count? Go watch Sentai, it’s the same situation as Precure. Matter of fact watch Kamen Rider too. And Gunhed. Actually just watch Tokusatsu shit in general.

Thanks for your anime list .

For Romance recent ones I enjoyed (plus a not so recent) that I thought were very good.:
Honey Lemon Soda
Murai in Love/no Koi
Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjo ga nai/My wife has no emotions
The Girl I like forgot her glasses.

And if you haven't watch "Teasing Master Takagi-san", definitely Top tier.

Also if you like Video games mixed with romance, i recommend "Hi Score Girl". I think I enjoy them showing off 1990's era games than the romance part. I love video games ^_^

Hey guys!

I'm slowly running out of really good animes, so I wanted to ask if you know any must-see animes. Please write me some of your ideas, it doesn't matter whether old or new.
Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002

I watched it a lot as a kid, when it was on Cartoon Network.

Another anime I can also recommend would be Black Jack. It could be the OVAs or the 2004 anime.
