So Animax... They're a company that dubs animes and well...

Animax is terrible at dubbing I'd even say they're worse than 4 kids. Most Anime dubs are particularly lost media due to the fact that they suck so much. So here's two clips from the Animax Ghost Stories Dub that just shows how terrible this dubbing really is.

I'd even say they're worse than 4 kids.
Only because the quality and voice actors are so bad, nothing tops 4kids straight up rewriting shows, cutting half of them, coming up with dub exclusive endings, and in Yu-Gi-Oh's case, illegally dubbing multiple seasons without having permission or a licence to do so.
But hey, maybe I'm biased towards hating 4kids, they did ruin one of my favourite series.

Does Animax belongs to Romania company?
Actually it was owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which also owns AXN Action TV, and in fact AXN used to air anime in the late 90's and early 2000's (and still does, in several territories) before Animax started broadcasting, and later it was rebranded as Aniplus.

Working Designs is the Animax of video games, adjusting difficulty too make the game worse..terrible voice acting and overall, a shit company. When i see this logo in any game on the PSX or the Saturn. I knew i was in for a world of pain. Thank God people went out of their way to fix their problems. Im also glad they went out of business.

Working Designs is a mixed bag for me. In one hand they actually put in a lot of effort in bringing games to the west that no one else was willing to and did a lot of good in helping JRPGs take root in the west. In the other hand, they always did that bizarre difficulty adjusting that often ruined the intended experience by forcing grinding and thoughtlessly introducing fake difficulty.

You know, I get that people like the Ghost Stories dub because it’s all zany and has lots of poop jokes and all that, but what if you actually wanted to watch an accurate translation of the original show instead of some nonsense a few twats just made up for the lols? Like, if you were really interested in the concept of Ghost Stories, waited patiently for the DVD, and then got a completely different show from what you were expecting.

WHAT THEN???? You'd have no choice but to steal fan-produced subs of the original-language version from the internet. No wonder the industry crashed in the late 2000s!

I watched the original subbed when it aired and its garbage. I can sit through a lot of anime. But this shit puts me too sleep. A genuinely bad anime with a "ghost of the week" skit and the ending is just a 3 episode ending that concludes with nothing emotional or good about the show.

Yes but hearing Andrea Kwan play Satsuki and Candice Moore play Hajime in the Animax dub is fucking awful... Why did they decide that getting the girl that played Sakura in Cardcaptor Sakura was a good idea? Also getting the guy that played Syaoran Li just made Hajime sound like a little bastard...

My younger cousin grew up with our Brazilian dub of Ghost Stories, which is just a normal dub. He was pretty incensed when he found clips of the American dub online.

I thought Animax was mainly bad because of how ridiculously expensive their DVDs were.

Who still watch animax? Animax feels nostalgic only with the jp voice.

I don't know if it's my age or just my laid back attitude but I've started to come to enjoy the "bad" English dubs from the dawn of anime localization in the USA. Maybe it's because I'm also learning a lot more about that whole business from podcasts and documentaries. Even a bad localization is a lot of hard work for people who, for the most part, are doing their best within the stupid limitations put on them by the suits from above.
I can't say I'm very familiar with Animax. It looks like it was much more common in Western and Southern Asia and they apparently didn't do much home media production for any countries on top of that.

I have several tapes of early dubbed anime like DBZ from Pioneer/Saban/FUNi, Ranma 1/2's Ocean dub via Viz Video, and some other random OVA and scattered episodes of various things from ADV and Manga Entertainment and the like and at this point I'm just fine and maybe even prefer putting one of those on the tv (CRT of course!) while I work.

Second one break my ears..... you must see one of Arabic "demon slayer".dub itself is fine which one I say but they used wrong translate which freak me out!
That's why if I don't find anime with Japanese dub I rather to don't watch it!
In fact I think some dubs are good and some are bad. For good I can say sherlock Holmes old version which the fanclub from London send 2 books to who dubbed it in a country. I have it dubs but I will send it somewhere else.

The one piece 4kids dub is horrendous

The editing, censoring, and rewriting they thought they had to do to get on TV is horrendous.
However, I really like the voice actors and the original music. Whenever I read One Piece (which used to be weekly for the last 20 years or so, now I'm falling off) I read it with the 4Kids VA in my head lol
