I will do my best to answer ANY questions you have about Truck Driving, the lunatics you see on the highways or how semi trucks are a general pain in the ass to be around all the time. Those are just some examples obviously.
EDIT: I drive in USA... I immediately forgot there are people from around the universe here, haha
No Question is off limits
Questions do not have to be about trucking, just wanted to stand out a little bit in the sea of threads.
If someone in a car next to you on the freeway does that hand pull up and down signal(I forget the name, the one that means honk your horn), do you honk the horn, or deny them?
Have you been to 7 Feathers Truck Stop? If so, how would you rate it compared to others? It's the one I always stop at when I'm driving down I-5 to visit friends. It seems decent, but I'm sure it has nothing on a Buc-ees.

I ALWAYS HONK! I feel really bad if I see them at the last millisecond and don't register in time they wanted the horn.
I Have been there! That truck stop is definitely on the higher end of truck stops for me. First of all I LOVE an Ambest truck stop because most of them are independently owned and there is a real level of care... and you can certainly tell. For me the bottom of the barrel are MOST of the big chain truck stops, Pilot/FlyingJ, Loves, Ta/Petro. There are a few exceptions but for the most part i try to stick to independents
As of the last few months ill usually be out for about a week and a half at a time on average. Sometimes 2 weeks. Then I'm back at the house for a couple days, that's been pretty standard for me recently.
Thats a great question, because there isn't really one direct answer, I've had to restart this answer a few times. I think what it really boils down to for me is this. When your a new truck driver and you kinda... fade off mentally and go into autopilot, I have had my fair share of that. There are always little things that will subconsciously set you straight. Like something as simple as not seeing a car broke down on the shoulder. Any time that happened I couldn't help but imagine it being in the middle if the interstate, because if I didn't see it on the shoulder I wouldn't have seen it in the middle of the road. So with that, I think when your driving and you learn how NOT NIMBLE the trucks are, paired with the fact that seeing something too late, one time could be the end of your life or someone else's. It just kinda comes naturally, at least it did for me.
Hey! On an average I usually drive around 650-690 miles in a day. Of course that all depends on delivery locations and all that, but in between locations I usually run about that. Unfortunately I don't have a truck of my own yet, but actually very very soon (Within the next few months) I will and ill post it up on my profile. Right now I'm just driving a standard run of the mill Cascadia. The Honda civic of semi trucks lol
