I never make these because I’m usually happy with how things are in the site but this could severely impact my work output due to my reading difficulties.

I’ve dyslexia that ranges from mild to severe depending on my sleep, energy or my mood. I sometimes notice mistakes only a while after reading back what I wrote. Sometimes a reader also points out important info that I add back into the article for further accuracy.

I lack context for the whole vandalism incident but I feel us the article writers are getting caught in the crossfire through no fault of our own. It doesn’t help that moderators can still edit their articles, creating an uneven or unfair field.

Losing the ability to edit my article would be severely discouraging. Regular forum posts are fine, I can live with that though.

I'm not sure if time-limit can be defined separately for articles or not... but if it's possible, how much time do you think would be appropriate for the time-limit of articles?

Preferably none. As I said, I’m not aware of the context of the vandalism incident and cannot make valid judgment based on what happened. Maybe there’s something there that would immediately make me understand stuff but from the outside, it feels almost I like got punished for someone else’s actions, a person I’m not even aware exists. It’s very shocking.

No, it can't. It's all or nothing, unfortunately.
Thank you for clarifying this.

Thank you for whoever upvoted. This is quite important to me.

Oh geez. I have to agree with Yousef. I am a terrible speller/editor and on top of that trigger happy with the publish button. Not having the ability to edit would severely harm the quality of my articles. On top of that we don't have the ability to delete or hide articles. We need some type of ability to undo our mistakes.

Thank you for the bottom of my heart. I can’t stress enough how important this is to me.

I get it, trust me. I keep spotting typos on my own articles weeks after the fact.

We'll see what we can do. This wasn't something we wanted to do.

I'm not sure if this change is anyone's fault, but i think it is a must at some point.

However, the duration of the time-limit can be discussed.
I think even a week might be acceptable (just my opinion) if the purpose is the preservation of history.

But there's always the option of mods turning the time-limit off per article too... even if they do this for every articles.

Edit:
Looks like Waffles answered me even before i posted! ?

A week would be swell.

I'd even settle for 24 hours.

The thing to understand, however, is that, imperfect as this is, it wasn't never made with articles in mind (and I'm sure many boards don't even have articles). It's in place to give people a chance to take back posts they aren't comfortable with before they are fully posted and integrated into the board, and ultimately to prevent wanton destruction of forum history.

7 days for articles/reviews guys.
Ideally the article should be proofread before publishing it.
If after 7 days you are still making changes maybe rethink your strategy cos that's not supposed to be the case.
