Anime All You Need Is Kill

First trailer for the All You Need Is Kill anime dropped.

I'm incredibly disappointed. I love the original novel, and manga adaptation. And I enjoy Edge Of Tomorrow as a live action, even though it's dramatically different.

I was hyped for the anime adaptation when it first got announced, but this isn't it.
All You Need Is Kill is dark, gritty, gory, and hyper violent. And having a round, pastel, abstract art style doesn't reflect that at all. The mech suit designs look stupid. And worst of all, they aren't following the original story. That's not Keiji in the trailer. And even if they're telling it from Rita's POV, that's not what I want from the anime adaptation. The twists, surprises, and sad ending were important to what made All You Need Is Kill so awesome, and I don't like that they are screwing with that.

Most people don't know the novel, or even the manga even exist. So a weird adaptation of the source material being the first and only exposure the majority of people in the world will know of, really sucks.

I feel it's such a huge missed opportunity if anything related to a Yellow submarine isn't shown on there.

I just want the manga to be animated. With the Death Note designs, gore, nudity and thrilling action mixed into a bag called All you need is kill. Is this such a hard request?

It’s the anime industry so yes.

I mean, I wanted an anime adaptation, as I loved the novel and manga, and I know a lot of people who refuse to read, so I was hoping they'd become fans through the anime. And I just wanted to see some of the fights from the novel animated out
