A place to post and discuss games made using Adventure Game Studio, and generally celebrate some of the smaller indie games that have kept the point and click genre alive.

Never tried the "creation side" of the program, but I've enjoyed quite a few games created by it, like Mind's Eye by Progzmax, 5 days a stranger, Emily Enough, to name a few.

There's quite a collection to explore, and now some actual retail titles are being made with it, hopefully some more attention.

Had never heard of this dev tool, but it turns out I actually played a game on that list - The Excavation of Hob's Barrow.

Really good Lovecraftian/folk horror adventure game, that.
Nice and slow buildup to a satisfying finale, a super dense, cozy-spooky atmosphere and really great visuals both during gameplay and cutscenes. Can absolutely recommend it.

I actually helped develop two (unreleased) games using that tool:

It was surprisingly easy to use and complete, but we lacked the motivation and the skills to really push our boat out to sea.

I will forever love the greeting message chiding you for opening the program during Christmas, though XD

I don't have much experience with classic point and clicks but I played the Quest for Glory remake of 2 made in this engine and had a good time. I liked how they made carrying over saves from the original official game possible.

I remember when it was first out there was an article in PC Zone (British PC mag) following one of their journalists making a game with it ('Time Gentleman Please' I think), and that ease of use was very much the vibe. I am terrible at art, but it's the kind of thing I would love to give a go some day!
