Acclaim has somehow came back from bankruptcy after 20 years. Acclaim is known for publishing bad Simpsons and South Park games, but also published the Turok games, NBA Jam ports, Mortal Kombat ports and Puzzle Bobble ports, and acquired LJN. What do you think? Are you okay with Acclaim returning or should they stayed in bankruptcy?

So should Digital Eclipse make a Simpsons collection under the Acclaim name? Or should Acclaim hire a developer to remake them so the controls and gameplay are better than the original release?

Article doesn't go into much specifics as i skimmed over it. Honestly with as many big companies taking a dive and being idiots pushing DEI and ugly characters and terrible writing, i'd rather just leave them alone and not bring them back. I say this since the original team is probably long since gone, and rebuilding what made Acclaim Acclaim, will probably never be.... reclaimed....

Like atari, being worn as a suit because of the name. That's why i think it shouldn't come back.

Actually i'd say a law should be put in where if more than half of the founders and essentials of the company are replaced, the name should be changed to a new studio name. Otherwise you get what you have today, hire a bunch of people, work them with 3 years of crunch, then fire them.

From what I can tell....it's a wait and see approach. May they be redeemable, or you know, back to obscurity. In this day and age, even if you do succeed, someone will buy you and ruin your brand. EA i'm looking at you.
