This is a show/movie version of my thread "games that you were excited to play, only for them to get canceled."
Again, just like in that thread, I don't know if this type of thread already exists on this website but tell me anyways:
What's a show/movie that looked interesting to you and you were genuinely excited to watch, only to find out that it was canceled?

While there is no official announcement of cancelation as far as I know, I still want to see Machete Kills again IN SPACE.

Ash vs the evil dead.
*Sigh* it was cancelled due to low ratings
Bruce Campbell claimed that it would be the last time playing the role of Ash
I wish it wasn't so but...hey this world is cruel

Hmm, I don't have a good answer for this actually. I can't think of any cancelled movie or TV show I was hyped for. I've heard of plenty, but most of them were video game adaptations and it was probably for the best that those were strangled in the womb. x) Like the Shadow of the Colossus movie. It could have been surprisingly good, who knows, but I just don't feel like the kind of game SotC is lends itself well to a film. There's more dialogue in this fuckin' thread than in the whole game!

It's not quite in the same wheelhouse, but Firefly is one of the only close answers I can think of. I got into the show a couple years after Serenity was released. I loved the show, was supremely disappointed that it was a one season show that was cancelled instead of being made to be only one season. Serenity helped lessen the blow, but it still sucks hard. Police Squad! gave me similar feelings. Fucking brilliant show. It was only one short season, but at least it didn't have an overarching plot that was left hanging. It came back as The Naked Gun films, which were quality entertainment. Of course they are rebooting that series now. I do my best to be at least a little open minded with reboots, but I don't have a good feeling with this one. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Like the Shadow of the Colossus movie.
There were lifesigns of this movie two weeks ago.
I am currently traveling to the forbidden lands in order to slay the sixteen colossi so that my wish of the idea of making a SotC movie be erased from existence will be granted.

You are doing the Lord's work, sir. Your sacrifice will be forever remembered.
Or maybe it's more of a Babality than a sacrifice?

I really loved "The Person of Interest" show with Jim Caviezel. I thought it was doing great, but then, we got a short season 5 and it was over... so sad.

Disney didn't even end the first season as was intended, they only took the last episode that was made and used as the ending that's why the finale is so empty.

The Lazarus Project ..
I discovered it about two weeks ago, got to the end of S2 and the setup for the next season was BRILLIANT. So I get all pumped and Google when S3 is coming and I find out that it isn’t returning for S3. They weren’t green lit.. The last time this happened to me was with Manifest, but that at least came back for a final season on Netflix to tie it all up.
Actually it happens too often when discovering a show for the first time now..

It's amazing that it got a third season at all, but I'm feeling the sting of Warrior never coming back. The best fight scenes likely ever put in a TV format (though I know that's vague in the streaming era) mixed with a surprisingly scathing look at the racial politics of late 19th-century San Francisco. Each season had a spectacular "field trip" episode that dipped more heavily into Westerns than the rest of the show (and in one instance, Mortal Kombat), and it's rough knowing they went out unfinished.

There was this TV show produced by the NBC, called Hannibal.

I think that was the first time I got so hook up by a show. All the actors were great but Mads Mikkelsen was another thing, his Dr. Lecter was perfect, the creepiness, smugness, his calmness and relaxed movements disguising the monster. The cooking scenes, camera angles and his dexterity, made me hungry, even knowing what that food was.
The show had great suspense as well as horror scenes, all was perfect! but sadly it got cancelled after 3 seasons due to "low viewership", ending unfinished.

Wikipedia says:
The series received critical acclaim, with the performances of the lead actors and the visual style of the show being singled out for praise. The first two seasons each won the Saturn Awards for Best Network Television Series, while both Mikkelsen and Dancy won Best Actor, with Laurence Fishburne winning Best Supporting Actor for season two. The third and final season won the inaugural Best Action-Thriller Television Series award, while guest star Richard Armitage won Best Supporting Actor. The show has garnered a cult following and is considered by critics and audiences as one of the best series of the horror genre, and one of the greatest network TV series of all time.
I didn't know it had that much fame.

The Journeyman Project was supposed to get a series on the SciFi Channel, but it was cancelled along with the 4th game in favor of the Myst series.
