Message: [QUOTE="Rocket2049, post: 259252, member: 2138"] Ys 8 is absolute my favorite game OF ALL TIME, it's so good i can't help recommend it to every gamer, it's NEEDS to be played by all gamers (it's easy enough unless you raise the difficulty) it's an experience, imagine an RPG without money/gold/gil/etc, every item you have to trade for, with stuff you find on the huge island you're stuck on. it's actually not annoying considering how fast things respawn (as fast as you can reload the map, fast travel or just walk back and forth) imagine zelda crossed with bayonetta dodge mechanics, with a party of 3 you can tag between. it's just hard to explain, it needs to be PLAYED to understand, if someone does NOT like Ys 8, i'd struggle to call them a "gamer" anymore. i haven't met a person who disliked Ys 8 (btw don't get it on VITA that version has less content, story and map wise, PC, PS4, Switch is fine, anything not the Vita port) also BTW on PC Ys 8 has a mod for MULTIPLAYER (up to 3) only on PC, since it's a mod. but, i didn't think 9 was good as much as 8, just be warned, it's not "bad" just... too broken in your favor and bland compared to the BIG ISLAND ON 8. and 10 has boat combat... that's not a good thing btw, and the 2 person team up mechanics are weird (you can't block if the other character is dead, you can go that far from the other character story wise you're stuck together by magic or whatever) haven't put much time into it to see if it gets better, outside the demo which was decent long to get an idea Ys memoire (the remaster of Oath in felghana which is a remake of Ys3) isn't too bad but short, expect to be done with normal difficulty (which is kinda hard) like 8 hours, to actually 100% it all you have to beat all the 6 difficulties (no it doesn't stack, i beat normal and on new game plus inferno and still had to do very easy, easy,normal,hard,nightmare) you can new game plus, carry over level, gear, money/ore, and the memoire version has x2 game speed so it's not terrible. also note you move faster by jump slashing, it's dumb even when you get dash(2x move speed it's a toggle on/off) jump slash is faster, and i mean, jump (IMMEDIATELY) slash.
