just started getting back into kenshi & i wanted to know if anyone here has played it :)
i've played off & on for a couple of years casually, dying a lot & losing limbs. but after getting back into it this past week i feel like im having a kenshi renaissance, understanding the systems & taking in all of the cool lore there is here (and dying a lot & losing limbs)
i only recently figured out that the main way you train your characters early on is by getting their asses beat over & over. the text even points this out a few times in the stat descriptions but up until then i've always played things extremely safe with my characters (i just spent 40 mins hand crafting each one i dont want them to get eaten by cannibals )
but kenshi really is the game about being shit at everything and brute forcing yourself to get better through sheer willpower, all while slavers and bonedogs are chasing you and youre just an armless legless torso starving in the desert. and its fun!!!

Kenshi is my favourite game i dont play. hahahah.
I have a huge admiration for the developer and all the story of this game's development.
(Here's a link to a really nice documentary on it btw!)
I LOVE the storytelling kenshi players create with their runs, i love their characters, the worldbuilding in Kenshi is just... incredible, i better just leave it like this. Listening to lore videos is a treat.
And the concept art is just insane. Sergei Musin really is on a league of his own.
For the concept art enthusiasts out there, i really recommend checking out Sergei's Artstation, he puts out SO much art, and all of it is really good too, its insane.

Alas, I am more of a mount and blade guy, so i havent really played kenshi a lot..
I enjoy it more from seeing the content made by the community. But i still bought it and wish all the best for the developer in the sequel. This level of artistry and passion really deserves to be supported.

i think the biggest barrier to enjoying kenshi is learning how to setup automatic processes so you don't have to micro-manage everything. Also its a rough 3 - 4 hours when you first start a run just mining resources and skilling up your characters so they don't flop like wet noodles against bone dogs and blood spiders.

Its the perfect game for putting a podcast on in the background lol.

I love Kenshi. My favorite thing is to level up martial arts so I can kick butts all around. But I almost always play with just one character because it gets a bit overwhelming to micro-manage a squad.

The beginning's always tough but when you start getting your first Ws it's really gratifying.

currently running the aspiring tech hunter start, about 45 days in rn ^_^

started with these two, tech hunter tav (right) and her lover shield maiden soman

probably my favorite character of this run, lady miss nines and her pups kissie and babie

a few days into my run i went into a daze, started mass recruiting and eventually built a decent village. my current squad:

only kinda bloodied and bruised after having just surviving two cannibal raids back to back

Got the game when it came out years ago but my pc couldn't run it properly. Last year I tried it again on my new pc and, although I like the concepts around the game, I got a bit overwhelmed with how punishing it is

helll yeah so cool, i also love mortal kombat samurai guy
but the gas mask one, wow, it kinda gave me some metal gear vibes.
