It’s pretty much your standard big budget popcorn flick, explosions, cheesy patriotism, and a few familiar faces like Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch. Without those names attached to it, I doubt anyone would have really cared. It’s like a giant fireworks display for the masses, with aliens thrown in for good measure. It’s fun enough in the moment, and i will watch it if i see it on maybe. But if it weren’t for the 90's star power and all the spectacle, it’s pretty much just another generic alien invasion movie. Honestly, it might have been better if it had been a no-name B movie, like Evil Dead was at first.
