As I scroll further and further down the list I keep saying "oh fuck" cus there were so many damn great games in 2005....

Like, literally I cannot continue. There is just too much good shit in this year. I feel like even mentioning 5 games is gonna leave so much high quality gaming off the table.

Plez. Send help. ::homerscream

RE4...wow, 20 years old. Sad to say I own 4 copies of that on multiple platforms, including the european pc version. If you don't know why that is important, just know it is by UBISOFT, and is broken as F****.

In any order:

Ape Escape 3
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
Ninja Gaiden Black
Resident Evil 4
We Love Katamari

Honourable mentions: Bomberman DS, Dead or Alive 4, Devil May Cry 3, Hokuto no Ken, Gunstar Super Heroes, House of the Dead 4, Ibara, Killer7, Kingdom Hearts 2, Mario Kart DS, Oddworld: Strangers Wrath, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Raiden 3, Rumble Fish 2, Shadow of the Colossus & Star Wars: Republic Commando

1-Kingdom Hearts II
2-Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3
3-Star Wars Battlefront II
4-Ratchet Deadlocked/Gladiator
5-God of War I

Honorable Mentions: Mario Kart DS, Kameo, Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Sonic Rush, Burnout Legends and Revenge, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 1, Tak 3, Jak X, Sly 3, Ape Escape 3 and We Love Katamari (Fun Fact: it came out in the same day as ultimate ninja 3 and kingdom hearts ii, truly a blessed day for videogames)

1-Digital Devil Saga 2
2-TimeSplitters Future Perfect
3-Biohazard 4
4-Killer7
5-Shadow of the Colossus

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones, Devil May Cry 3, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, God of War, Fatal Frame 3, The Warriors, Megaman Zero 4, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, Ape Escape 3, Armored Core Last Raven, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, We Love Katamari, Castlevania Curse of Darkness, KOF XI and Espgaluda II were great too

Psychonauts - Double Fine's finest.
Advent Rising - Despite how buggy and janky it is, I will forever love this game.
Amped 3 - Next to THPS, this is my favorite "extreme sports" franchise. While it was more arcadey than the first two, I still loved it. The story was absolutely bonkers. It was just a blast to play, and like the first two, the soundtrack was full of good stuff. I remember some stuff from Underoath and mewithoutYou being on there.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth - Still the best Cthulhu game. Another flawed gem, it was far from perfect, but the game was so eerie and immersive.
Condemned: Criminal Origins - This and Kameo were my favorite Xbox 360 launch titles. Kameo would be on the list but Condemned is ahead of it. This game's environments looked so realistic to me in 2005, the melee combat was so brutal and unlike anything else before and since its release, and it was a truly terrifying game to play. Much like F.E.A.R., the A.I. behaved far more intelligently than most games at the time, as well as many games since.

1. God of War (2005)
2. Resident Evil 4
3. DMC3: Danté’s Awakening
4. GTA: Liberty City Stories
5. Mario Kart DS

Honorable mentions:
Sly 3
Ratchet: Deadlocked
Jak X: Combat Racing
Mario & Luigi: Partner’s in Time
Psychonauts
Ultimate Spider Man
Star Wars Episode III The Game
Killer7
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Shadow of the Colossus
Kingdom Hearts II
MGS3: Subsistence
Burnout Revenge
King Kong: The Game
Gun
