    Video Game Novels

I've been reading a backlog of novels based off my favorite video games that I bought while I was a teen but didn't have time to read through them. It's funny looking at the Venn diagram of nerdy gamers and nerdy readers and how its basically a circle. I recently read Bioshock Rapture and was...

Reading book on the phone or a kindle doesn't feel the same

I don't know if it's psychological or anything but I don't feel like I'm actually reading unless it's on paper.

[Review] "Runaway" by Wendelin van Draanen

(Originally posted on 8/12/24). I have gone through a bunch of books in the last 21 months. Some have been good, some have been ok, some have been bad in a "so-bad-it's-good" way and some have been downright horrendous. I don't regret reading any of them, though! And some, I have loved so...

[Review] "My Heart And Other Black Holes" by Jasmine Warga

I wanted to write a book review for the site just to switch gears a little, and I think I found the perfect candidate to kick things off... Despite an incredibly misleading title, "My Heart And Other Black Holes" is the kind of book I really wish I had access to as a teenager... its tale makes...

    Comic Adventures of Boots

The Comic Adventures of Boots I got the Comic Adventures of Boots book from a library a few years ago, and so I thought about making this article about it. (When it was made and who it was made by) Comic Adventures of Boots was made by Satoshi Kitamura in 2011. This book is a part of a...

    Who is your favorite author?

My favorite author would probably be Haruki Murakami. I discovered him in 2017 starting with Norwegian Wood and have enjoyed reading his other books as well. My favorite book of his is The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

    Favorite Books

I wanted to post these on the "Books that turned you into a reader" thread but I figured a new thread would be better. Post books that you own that you really like. I took out a few books from my library and you can tell how much I like them by how beat up they are.

Why are books often darker than their adaption counterparts?

Each time I read the book that a movie I liked was based on I end up finding harsher elements more than once.

What book turned you into a reader?

When I was in elementary school, my teacher handed us copies of Der kleine Vampir in Gefahr by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg. It was supposed to be a month-long project designed to get us used to the idea of reading foreign literature through a fairly easy entry point... but the fact was that I just...

    Currently reading (or last read)?

Share what you have been reading/listening to and what you thought of it. I'm currently halfway through "Bye Forever, I Guess" by Jodi Meadows (audiobook version). I find it super charming and interesting, genuinely funny, and even brilliant at times. Truly surprised by this book that, at...
