Game Description:
Sonic The Hedgehog's Gameworld (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ・ゲームワールド) is a Edutainment/Mini Games video game published by SEGA released on November 15th, 1996 for the SEGA Pico.
Sonic The Hedgehog's Gameworld is a SEGA PICO edutanment video game released for the SEGA Pico in August 1994 in Japan, November 1996 in the US, you can choose between Sonic, Tails, or Amy.
How to play:
While technically the SEGA PICO on itself is a modified Mega Drive, you can technically get this game running on any Mega Drive/SEGA Genesis emulator... However, you won't get past the title screen, this is because the PICO uses special extra tools such as an Electronic Book and a Stylus.
Instead, you need a modefied emulator such as PicoDrive
You can learn more about PicoDrive here https://segaretro.org/PicoDrive_(Windows)
Regional Differences:
Included are both the US and Japanese Roms complete with Electronic Book scans (in full colors as I edited them).
Aside from the voices, the main difference is with Floor 3 (3F) Mini Games, in Japan Floor 3 was reserved for casino themed mini games, slot machines, cards, and roulettes.
Due to the rating system, Floor 3 was completely removed from the US version and instead the game skips from 2F directly to 4F with an additional page added in the end as a coloring book.
Ironically, despite 3F being removed from the US version, in the final mini game where you chase Dr. Eggman across all floors looking for the chaos emeralds, the localization team somehow forgot to remove it from this mini game (see video at 15:24).
