Final Fantasy 1 Restored adds an immense amount of quality of life features and improvements to this venerable classic. From bulk buying to improved RNG, bugfixes and a better font, the number of positive changes is really too large list; so please check the included documentation. It also offers plenty of customization via included patches that go on top of it.

RB's Notes 1: The RB Select variation adds several patches on top of the already excellent FF1 Restored to create what I consider to be the perfect experience. Those are:
Spoiler ▶FF1 Dynamic Action Pack Re-jiggered by Jiggers
(Revises targeting in combat, plays more akin to later entries by not wasting attacks on invalid targets)
2019 Script Port by Chaos Rush
(Modern script and conventions)
Final Fantasy Restored Sprite Touch Ups and Rebalancing by Chicken Knife (only the balancing patch)
(Rebalances weaker classes by fixing bugs and leveling out their relative power levels for more equality)
Poquelin's Black Belt Makeover
(Graphical improvement patch for the Black Belt)
Poquelin's Honoured Warriors
(Redraws promoted sprites to be more in line with FF3's style)
RB's Notes 2: If for some reason you dislike the font FF Restored comes with, it is compatible with this alternative one.
