AKA: "The Story of Hero Yoshitsune"

Download from Repo

Hack and slash And strategy? I never thought I'd see those two genres together.

I don´t know if this game shares any similarity with Fu-un Bakumatsu-den (PSP, also from From Software, also Musou with strategy), its a rather deep in mechanics and character customizing. I tried to make a hero who used to fight with empty hands, and the moveset options for this style, mixing striking and grapling moves was very impressive.

Yet another game that will be very welcome after a translating patch.

Sounds awesome. Hope it gets translated.

wow! i'm pretty well read on the ps2 console and its library, but i have never come across this game before. don't know how good it is, but another fromsoftware joint can only be a good thing. the ps2 continues to impress in 2025. what a gem of a console.

I've found this game like 3 weeks ago on the other repo site. I was looking through wikipedia's From Software's gameology and seen it there. I love historical sengoku jidai games, movies and the whole japanese culture so I was hyped as hell. Sadly, it's only in japanese, but I'm glad that there's English patch in the works as Vesthal says. Other non-translated samurai gems for the PS2 are: Kengo 3, Hissatsu Ura-Kagyu, Sengoku Basara 1 & 2 and Sengoku Basara: Heroes. I don't care for that Devil Kings though - the whole quasi-magical western setting is bullshit. :loldog

Geez, i wish someone would tell those ppl on net about upscaling....

This is Musou but made by FromSoft, which reminds me, when will they make an Musou-style Soulsbornering game? I know they made a game that has a similar theme to Yoshitsune Eiyuuden which is Sekiro, though. (Also Idea Factory also made another Minamoto no Yoshitsune game called Yoshitsune-ki, as well, which they are both trying to capitalize on the first Genji game 'Dawn of the Samurai')

Dude this is really sick. Reminds me a lot about dynasty warriors. Nice upload Teone!
