What was your favorite Pokemon game?

started with blue. gen1 and 5 are great. gen 2 and 3 are trash. gen 4 are slow as shit but it's when the competitive getting good so it's fine. gen 6 is trash, but online is good. gen 7 is trash. gen 8 doesn't exist. gen 9 is trash, but the glitches are funny and competitive is fun so it's fine. overall pokemon went to shit, but competitive is still very fun to play. not like digheemon.

yeah, that is a bit of a weird thing to say. i usually hear people say that gen 3 is fantastic, gen 2 has some problems, mostly with the level curve and placement of the new and old pokemon, but considering that there was a short development time and size limitations for the games, it's still a pretty solid gen.

I'm pretty sure I bought Emerald as a kid simply because I thought both protagonists' outfits were so much better than in RS (and likewise, I think these are way better than their redesigns in ORAS)

gen 2 : most pokemon introduced in that generation are pretty bad, like all those babies, unown, lediba/ledian, spinarak/ariados, sunkern/sunflora, yanma and many more. movepools are bad. 4 of the gym leaders don't even have gen 2 pokemon on their team. some gen 2 pokemon only available in kanto. the victory road is also bad. why can't i buy the elemental stones? i'd rather have 1 region honestly.

When gen 2 first came out it felt like a massive improvement over gen 1. It was in colour, it had 100 more Pokemon, you got both Johto and Kanto to explore. There was just more everything. It just felt bigger and better in every way.

Which Pokemon are trash will always be a subjective thing. Although I don't disagree with the ones you listed, (except I do actually like some of the baby mons).
There have been way too many moves added in later gens, but it really seems like Game Freak wanted to make every Pokemon at least somewhat viable, hence adding new moves. And gen 3 adding abilities was a huge change that definitely improved the series going forward

Rivals/evil teams have definitely only gone downhill from gen 1, can't argue that.

yeah, i've seen a lot of people say that the ruby/sapphire and black/white games were the highest points in the series. everything else varies in quality.

are you talking about the upcoming legends game? if so, yeah, it looks alright. not spectacular but alright. i heard that they are supposed to be slowing down after this game comes out and will try to put more effort into the next mainline game that comes out.

Pokémon Emerald is still my all time favorite Pokémon game.

I got into the series as a kid once the craze hit in the late 90s, but only the cards and anime. I didn't own a gameboy, so the only time I got to see gen 1/2 was with my cousins.

I finally got a GBA and blitzed Gen 3 and have been playing since. Only mainline game I didn't roll credits on was sword/shield cus I found it legit boring.
