I'm a big collector. I collect all sorts of action figures from wrestling to Transformers to Tokusatsu to comic book and more. Collecting physical media from VHS tapes, to DVD/Blu-rays, to video games. But the topic at hand here is video game figure collecting. Over the years I've picked up action figures & statues of video games and characters from online to thrift stores to mom and pop toy spots to flea markets to popular chains. It's part of what I do to occupy my time and it's been really satisfying to see it grow. Below is some of what I have(and fun fact, I share a birthday with Skullomania so the Storm Collectibles of him was a must to get this year 😅):

Would love to see what others are willing to share. I have a good amount more and though I don't play the game I have a big collection of the 3 inch Fortnite figures I end up finding at thrift stores.

Off my mind I remember I had bought: a Final Fantasy Cactuar plushe, a t-shirt with Okami, an Animal Crossing amiibo when I found it really cheap at Gamestop. Only left item regarding gaming I have now is the artbook of "Knights in the Nightmare", I treasure it :)
This for collection about videogame subject; outside that, I have many books, but not really a "collection", more like "buying, reading, putting them in the shelf, and one day you see how many you have".

EUI'm also a lover of physical media, but I only own bootleg DVDs.

Imagine a game with all these characters.
Smash Bros. is about as close are we're going to get to that. IP licensing is more about profit than fun. I heard of Microsoft denying the secret level team from releasing a doom guy vs Halo master chief short, which is odd as they're both owned by Microsoft. I'd hazard a guess it's a non-compete issue as paramount did the live action Halo and would be counted visual media. Secret level had some great shorts. Shame.

As for collectibles, I collect things but I am more so going for "curated" in that I don't have much, as I don't have the room to collect all that much and beyond that I'd feel like I'm hoarding. I do love what I have though and can't part with any of it.

I can imagine though for some, that it's either an issue with room and many collectibles are quite expensive.

I am currently trying to upgrade my favourite movies and a handful of others to 4k, though my collection is small, it's not a cheap endeavour, even if 4k movies are easily half the price the were for a while or less, outside of steel book releases.

Do Amiibos count 😅
YES 100%

oh in general my collection is curated. I just happen to have more room than a decent amount of folks.

My hunt for collectibles has always hinged on price as much as desire for the specific thing. That's why thrifting is so important to me. I find cheap 4K of my faves in the wild or on GRUV when I can.

Part of my philosophy when it comes to collecting is to look for specific things but NEVER break the bank over them.

My friend has a pretty nice collection of Amiibos.

To be honest, I'm fairly certain I actually use them more.. 😅
nice that your friend let's you use them. I only have two myself and it's cuz I found them by chance at the thrift store. A Shiek and a Ness. Never played a game using Amiibos but always respected the concept. That and Skylanders which I also have a few of those as well.
