This steam machine is so COOL, I can't wait to buy it.![]()

Seems about half the size of a series xBtw, I often have a problem with scales on pictures. The machine looked huge on its own, but then I saw the other pictures.![]()

I belive this is more about being an entry level device for casual, couch gamers. Sure you can buy a better computer, but this is smaller, fits well into the living room and probably doesn't make as much noise as a tower rig.I don't know why people are going loony over it. Yes, it looks neat, but at the end of the day, it's just a computer with SteamOS 3 on it. For what they will probably charge you for it, you could buy a good used gaming PC or possibly build one, and just wait for SteamOS 3 to come out and use it. It would probably be far cheaper.
And you would probably have money left over. I like VALVe, I honestly do. But I just don't care anymore about System A or System this.
Fair enough, I'll give you that, but a lot of mini PCs are fairly powerful nowadays and good enough to play most games as well. However, I see your point about it being preconfigured as a video game console first. You have to forgive me, I'm used to throwing my own OS on a PC for what I want it to do, and forget not everyone can or wants to do thatI belive this is more about being an entry level device for casual, couch gamers. I would say that some people don't use their computers for gaming, but in this specific instance that's quite paradoxical because most people who have a Steam library probably (definitely) already play games on their computers.I don't know why people are going loony over it. Agreed. Aside from the Steam Deck, a computer is kind of a requirement for Steam. I'm sure there are other handhelds you can put SteamOS on. I don't know what they are, but I'm sure there are some.I would say that some people don't use their computers for gaming, but in this specific instance that's quite paradoxical because most people who have a Steam library probably (definitely) already play games on their computers.
Right see, I tend to play on a television, but I also use the same PC to watch media. At the end of the day though I guess it just boils down to the simple fact that some people prefer playing games on their TV, and some people don't (I don't really have a preference myself, it comes down to the game usually). Personally I'm mainly interested because it's a new thing so it'll be fun to follow. I didn't care about the Steam Deck but I'm interested in consoles and new/different spins on them.
Yeah, that seems to be most peoples' concerns right now.8GB VRAM is wild. UE5 games won't be pretty on this thing.
I’m probably going to do the same. I bought the Steam Deck when it came out, and it quickly became my main gaming device.I already have both Alienware Steam Machines with Steam Controllers, and the Steam Deck.
I'm going to burn my wallet and hoard this crap as soon as Lord Gaben's minions allow it.
