I bought this as one of those games I "feel" I will like: no reviews, no previews, when I looked at the screenshots in the psn shop I immediately liked it, I thought some week about it because I usually don't go digital-only, luckily for me there's been a sale and I got it at around 15$.
I finished it once, with all the characters quests completed, it's been awesome.
Yes, in hindsight it may have flaws and the Switch version may be better and with more contents, but still I have great memories of this game: nice graphics on Vita (at least when playing it I had no Switch or pc for comparing so I liked what I saw), lots of characters for your party to choose from, original battle system, good story, just beware of enemies at a too much higher level than you or you will be gameover!

Didn't know the original Caligula game was also on Vita. There was a PC version of the later Overdose version by NISA, ported by Engine Software, available on Steam and GOG by the way.
Also in case why the game is renamed to The Caligula Effect, apparently there is an 80's film called Caligula, which is why Atlus USA/NISA renamed it.

Despite being low budget and kind of buggy at times, Caligula Effect has a pretty deep story and characters. Which is no wonder as the writer Tadashi Satomi who also wrote the outstanding Persona 2 duology. It's grindy and boring at times but I promise the story and the characters are totally worth it~.
Persona 2 needs way more love. Those games also had moments of boredom... But that's usually right before a dungeon is about to kick your shit in 🤣

"Caligula"

Oh, it's that place from San Andreas!
