Never watched it but according to Letterboxd, the movie seems to be pretty alright.

I remember when this movie came out.
I didn't watch it.
I'm not sure I'm into dramatized versions of things that may have not happened.
I would rather watch a documentary.
Yup same here it’s why I held off watching this and just looked up random Tetris docs online. Much more engaging I feel.

I find that most Hollywood embellishment is just corny and dumb instead of actually "improving the story" or making it more entertaining (which is how they defend these things). Like all these musician biopics always have terrible scenes where the person thinks of that one song they're most famous for and it never feels like something that would happen. Like if they made one about Nirvana they'd have Kurt Cobain be like "Where are my socks? Oh well, whatever, nevermind, I found them" and then Dave Grohl or whoever would say "Wait a minute, say that again?" "What, nevermind?" and they'd excitedly write Nevermind and shit. It's so stupid.

Now I'm scared of how a mulatto an albino a mosquito my libido came to be.

Never watched it as I don't subscribe to Apple's streaming service but I do like the two covers of "Holding Out For A Hero" in Japanese and Russian from the soundtrack that I've listened to on youtube.

This reminds me one of the worst scenes of the Star Wars franchise, when a random guy gives Han the surname Solo.

I enjoyed it, the intrusive pixelated effects felt overwhelming but I guess they gotta put those because look VIDEOGAME MOVIE LMAO

I found a comment on reddit breaking it down on how accurate it was. Now that I've read part of it, I'm wishing for a more realistic movie now. I like drama, and a historical and clumsy moment in gaming history would be a nice story to tell.

It's a great movie in my opinion. I don't see it as a documentary, it's more like a loose re-enactment of the events in a way that would make an entertaining movie, it does that well.

I like it i know some of the scenes arent accurate but it adds to the excitement lots who say they havent watched it please do then comment to me.

I still liked the reference to Wayne's World in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Serious:
Honestly, when the movie came out, I thought it would be about a living Tetris piece, voiced by Jack Black, running around trying to find forbidden love. Jack’s character being an L-shaped piece and the girl he loves being a Square block... that’s what I imagined.

L-Shaped as symbolism for being a loser is high art.

I still think that this kind of movie modifies reality or exaggerate some of the people.

Sure, MirrorSoft weren't great but that guy almost felt like a cartoon villain rather than a serious race to get the rights about a video game.

And they're doing a big deal about Soviet Russia as if Tetris lead to the fall of the Union lol. As good as Pajitnov was he was still contractually working for a company, even under capitalism his work would still belong to the company (ie: MGS as an IP belongs to Konami, not Kojima yet Japan has free market economics).

While I liked the scene about the Gameboy's reveal and Yamauchi when the dude compared Tetris and Nintendo with actual game references it was a bit "cringy" as young said.

I don't know why but that depiction of Hiroshi Yamauchi as a nice old man scared the shit out of me ::eggmanlaugh
