How is the game ?
It's gameplay is an action combat system that’s more like a hack-and-slash game than traditional MMORPGs. Players have to manually aim, dodge, and chain combos rather than relying on auto-targeting.

The game takes place in Arborea, a high-fantasy world created by two sleeping titans. Players choose between multiple races (like Humans, Castanics, Elins, Aman, Popori, Baraka, and High Elves) and classes (such as Lancer, Slayer, Berserker, Sorcerer, Mystic, and so on).

It features dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, and open-world exploration. There’s both PvE and PvP content (depending on which private server you play).

Thanks for the explanation. That sounds like a great game.

I played a fair bit of this casually years ago. The more involved Hack and Slash gameplay was pretty novel for MMO's at the time.

Also adding my thoughts..

Initially Tera was a unique MMORPG for:
- Graphics (outstanding)
- Action RPG unparalleled fights (seriously, no other MMORPg comes close, maybe Vindicturs which I never enjoyed being aggresively instantiated, compared to Tera (huge maps)).
- You could fight very strong mobs, even higher than you, with your skill. In particular there were the BAM monsters (big ass monsters) which had like 30x HP of normal mobs and could 1/2-Hit Kill you. Most Classes had strategies which used either active skills or personal skills to allow you to fight them.

There was a distinctive update which changed gameplay drastically.

- BAMs were multiplied in the map and made much weaker, defeating the "big fight" event that would happen naturally.
- The game became much more instantiated adding smaller maps and events.

And most importantly..

- The game ceased any valuable update for about 5-7 years before going un-developed.

Tera remains one of my favourite games ever, however I tried it recently and didn't enjou as much because there were not enough people and also all the servers had the latest infamous updates with
BAMs removed.

One more hting to note is that the new update also brought aggressive teleports and simplifications.. well be aware that long ago it took 15 mins to go from A to B and it felt like an adventure (similar to WoW style).

What a shame. I will need to do another check to see if the old-updates were reestablished and try it again.

So all in all, "Europe Classic" seems to have the oldest update of the bunch, I'd have to research for it, but that's the one I'd give it a go.

What a unique game!
