PS2 Ratchet and Clank Megathread!

I really want to get into the series. I did tried the PS4 remake of the original one, but people suggested me to get into the original PS2 classic. And I was thinking to play it with an used copy on real hardware.
I'm kinda scared to get another Jak an Daxter whiplash so, I'm gonna ask bluntly: are these games's plots good and cohesive? Especially for the first games.

Yes, the plot is simple but I would say very cohesive. It's also reasonably funny if like me there is still a part of you that is eight years old and laughs at toilet humour.
